Bold to assume they will allow their power and political survival to be threatened by a democratic and fair process.

  2. This is pleasant fanfiction. I hope it becomes true but there’s not really any reason to believe it will.

  3. DoubtSubstantial5440 on

Lmao no they won’t, especially if the lets heal and reach across the aisle wing of the Democratic party has anything to say about it

I’d love to believe this, but ever since 2015 I’ve seen nothing but article after article of “This time Trump will pay!”

Sexual assault, pedophilia, insurrectionism, bribery, and bypassing congress for most every action have thus far yielded zero meaningful consequences.

  5. Really. I would think that if they were serious about it, they wouldn’t wait that long. By this attitude it seems like they are using the “oh no. Let’s see how much permanent damage he can do first, and then we’ll slap his wrist”.

Literal fanfiction. Bush’s Hague Invasion Act makes US unaccountable for all their war crimes. As much as we love accountability, it’s the ones with the biggest guns that makes the rules for thee and not for me.

  7. Nope. They will all get away with it because Democrats will want to “reach across the aisle”

  8. The Hague? Who’s going to take them there?

How are you going to impeach someone who’s out of office?

At the end of his previous term Trump literally led an unsuccessful coup and faced 0 consequences. He will either die of old age in office or retire to Florida peacefully. It isn’t what should happen, but it will.

Wishful thinking.  Wanna believe it but at the moment the evil ones are winning with no end.

Yeah, none of this is happening. Trump will sail off into the sunset, unless he chooses to remain involved in politics, which wouldn’t be surprising, because he is obsessive.

  12. i wish, but theres no way in hell any of these bags of shit will face any accountability

  13. Wise_Environment_598 on

Yeah, sure…we have only been hearing similar tales for the last ten+ years.

  14. Creative-Package6213 on

LOL yeah like these people are ever going to face any serious consequences…

  15. MyClosetedBiAcct on

He will die in office and never be held accountable for his crimes.

He’s old as shit and dying.

  16. I can’t imagine Trump living long enough for this to happen, even if it were attempted.

Henry Kissinger lived a long life with no fear of prison or responsibility. I’ll believe it when I see it.

The only possible way he could appear in front of the Hague is if Democrats win _everything_ and then serve him up on a platter.  And that’s not going to happen.

  19. Unfortunately, I don’t think there will ever be consequences for rich shitbags. Even if the Democrats were able to get a supermajority in both the House and Senate, we ALL KNOW they’d magically change tune and say “it’s time to heal!” or some other BS to justify why these psychopaths aren’t in prison for committing theft, murder and treason.

We need to declare MAGAs, and every other right-wing organization that’s been terrorizing our communities for far too long, exactly what they are: terrorists. From there, we round up these terrorists, and then it’s up to the courts to decide what to do with the people.

Good, cause Trump and his admin haven’t given the world a second of peace since they took office… if its not a fake war, it’s a fake grievance, or watching him send state troopers into cities or watching US citizens die at the hands of masked ICE and DHS agents. The US unleashed Trump on the world, and the world is finally realizing how big of a human trashpikle Trump and his allies are.

God, I literally just made a comment in another thread about how ridiculous the “Just wait until after midterms” comments have been. Now we’re already moving the goalposts to “Just wait until after he’s out of office”. How far are we going to kick the can down the road next, “Just wait until his grandkids are out of office, then we’ll really do something about him!”

  23. andr0medamusic on

I mean it’s technically correct at first. Trump probably will not have a “post-presidency” period of life.

  24. hackingdreams on

    That’s the hope.

The reality looks more like the Democrats doing like they did in 2021 and pretending the world just resets to status quo, as if it’s one big sitcom. We all just had a few laughs, a few trillion dollars moved around on the chessboard from the bottom 90% to the top 1%, a few sex criminals walked scot free, a few thousand insurrectionists were emboldened, race relations were tanked, the social situation was set back by *decades*, our global position and relationship with allies toast, our military in tatters…. and the Democrats are gonna wash their hands of all of it.

Unless someone runs on a true reform ticket for rebuilding America from the dry-rotted foundation up, this country is *fucked*. And the criminals are already writing their plans to get away with all of it – the biggest heist from the treasury the world’s ever known, to the tune of possibly hundreds of billions of dollars…

  25. I’ll believe it when I see it. But until then, I’ll just assume our system is designed to shield the richest and the whitest from consequences of their abhorrent behavior.

  26. 90s_kids_only on

Wake me up when any miniscule part of this ever happens.  I’ll sleep soundly until death.

  27. I call BS. There will be Parsons all around, and enough rich people invested enough money in that corrupt regime, that whoever is next will be forced to let it all go. Much as if like Trump and his crime family to have justice, we’ve seen what 4 years, a special prosecutor with a clear treason case, and other clear cut cases in several states, look like.
