tru.o claims were are winning and the US is back ( per his state of the union address). I didn't know that restraint closures on top of all the high priced food and gas going up from an illegal war was winning.

did some one change the definition?

On the bright side, I never really was a fan of chain restaurants. Maybe we’ll get more artisan food options?

  2. Honestly good riddance to all the chain restaurants. I’d rather give my business to local small business owner’s eatery anyway. Chain restaurants offer mediocre quality paired with high prices (especially after inflation). The other side of this issue is that communities will have to come together to support the less fortunate such as mutual aid which is a good thing but requires some committment/investment from the people who are not on the struggle bus

  3. She just doesn’t get it.

Restaurant closers benefit her as now she can afford gasoline.

1 dominos franchise has filed for chapter 11 in california.
    This is misleading as fuck.

  5. I would take this with a grain of salt. America’s eating habits have changed significantly in the last 10 years. These fast food restaurants have overestimated market growth and built out too much. Yes, the economy plays a part in this, because inflation, etc. but this was fundementally based on poor decision making at the corporate level.

  6. DoorDash and Uber Eats are a big factor in why these pizza chains are closing stores. Before, they would have their own drivers on standby, being able to deliver only in maybe a 25(im guessing)-mile radius; otherwise, they would never be able to get to all their customers if the range was larger.

But now with these apps, you don’t need so many stores to service an area. So you can have one store being able to cover a 50-mile radius, with no need to have a driver on stand by.

Bullshit, dominos pizza is not filing for chapter 11. Some franchisee called Northside County Pizza who runs one location is filing chapter 11.

“It brings me no joy to deliver this information.”

…but it sure does bring me a lot of views and comments!

Shitty chain restaurants are not “the economy”. I’m not saying the economy is doing any better or worse than she thinks it is, only that the driver of these closings could be any number of things having nothing to do with the broader economy. It could be that these restaurants are 30+ years behind current aesthetic restaurant trends (they are) and the closures will provide the financial flexibility to update the remaining location. It could also have something to do with the MAHA influencer running the Department of Health And Human Services. Or, again…any number of other things, including the economy sliding into a recession.
