  1. But fucking rainbows on beer cans are “evil indoctrination of youth”. Jesus fucking Christ

This is dystopian. 🚩 Community service is supposed to be about cleaning up parks or helping at a food bank, not providing administrative support for a federal detention system that is currently under three different human rights investigations. We are literally grooming kids to normalize the “carceral state.” If the government can’t afford to staff these facilities with adults, the solution isn’t to use high schoolers for “service hours.”

Uh, I think some people should join that in a heartbeat.  Normal people can’t get access to thesr places, I think some budding student journalists would jump at the chance.

  4. Sure, send them and let them see how we cruel we are to our neighbors. But I got a feeling the only ones who want to go will be more sadistic than the jailers.

If all the “illegals” are dangerous drug addled murderers and drug dealers, why do they want to put kids next to them?

  6. Students working at ICE facilities will result in:

    1) Racist students showing off on their off hours, starting conflicts

    2) Students getting into physical altercations with agents within the facility

    3) Teenagers will vindictively target their perceived enemies (peers, their families, etc) by passing information to ICE

  7. They should go! This is an opportunity to prevent the schism of humanity let the people in there to help those mostly innocent people. Keep an eye on the demons too. Social workers are needed in hell more than on earth!

Every single student in the school should sign up and then do a sit in or some other nonviolent protest.

These fascist pigs can’t stop trying to mold the youth with their hitler youth esque stunts (like this). Absolutely detestable-keep your hands off schools and shut these concentration camps down!

So our congresspeople can’t go but children can? Thats not a good look. Not that any of this has any good in it to begin with

So what’s the name of the cult teacher/administrator responsible? The world would like to make him famous.

    Yikes.

I mean, it’s not like ICE detention centers wouldn’t have plenty of opportunities to do actual literal legitimate community service, I suppose. But somehow I don’t think this is what ICE has in mind.

But a book about two widowed male penguins co-parenting a child is “indoctrination.”

This is a private detention center run by the GEO Group, receiving generous compensation from our tax dollars. It’s not a charity. They can pay employees to make their own damn sandwiches.

Odd take: send the kids. Explain beforehand what human rights are, what to look for in an oppressive situation, etc. Tell them to take careful notes. Then they can narc on the people running the joint

  16. I would let my hypothetical child go … with a camera and recorder to show what’s really going on.
