Me I was raised on kippers and beans on toast of a Saturday/Sunday morning and used to have them but as iv gotten older iv grown to love them if i was to use my free will I would cook up six cans of Brunswick kippers with a few butters toasts and feast on them but I know that’s not ethical but still the thought is there

These things are alright, for the money. I know they aren’t perfect (a bit bitter), but yes, try them on toast with loads of butter, can’t go wrong for the price, and better than starving!

  3. I just eat them straight from the can. My wife isn’t too keen on kissing me afterwards though

Absolutely yes, the best breakfast. So nice and smokey and salty. I don’t know anyone else, though, other than my 97-year-old English Grandad.

  5. Done sardines on toast for breakfast (seriously, it’s king’s food) but never done kippers on toast.

    I’d do it too.

My nanna who is almost 93 yrs used to make us kippers on toast all the time.
    I still have them occasionally!!

  7. The woolies brand mango pepper ones are excellent on rye, bit of sweetness to offset the ‘strong’ taste of herring.

Nevee tried kippers but Tuna on toast, bit of olive oil, cracked pepper, salt and bit of lemon was always a top tier brekky 👌

Kippers for breakfast reminds me of Mr Twiddle from the Enid Blyton books, haha.
