He always has a fall guy.

Hegseth’s makeup and hair gel should help break the fall.

Classic. Hell turn on anyone the second the heats on. Zero loyalty, only self-preservation.

    >President Trump is already trying to throw Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth under the bus for the fruitless war on Iran.

    >“I called Pete, I called General Caine, I called a lot of our great people … and I said, ‘Let’s talk. We got a problem in the Middle East. We have a country … that for 47 years has been a purveyor of terror. And they’re very close to having a nuclear weapon. We can keep going and get that 50,000 up to 55 and 60, there’s no end. Or we could take a stop and make a little journey into the Middle East, and eliminate a big problem,’” Trump said Monday at an event in Memphis.

    >“Pete, I think you were the first one to speak up,” Trump continued. “And you said, ‘Let’s do it.’ Because you can’t let them have a nuclear weapon.”

It’s the classic Trump move. He sends Hegseth out there to play the tough guy on and talk about $200 billion war budgets, and the second the wind blows a different way, he hits the brakes.

  6. This is so fucking dumb but the magats will eat it up.

Its not like the President didnt sign off on this. Or that we have systems to go through congress so we dont make rash decisions like starting a war at 1 am.

Its like if Pete Carroll blamed Russell Wilson for calling the play that led to the game winning super bowl interception. Like, ok, you’re the coach? Didn’t realize that was Russ’s call?

  7. You’d think these people would have learned from Trump’s first term.

Noem was first, seems likely Hegseth will be next, followed by Bondi when the pedo-war is unsuccessful at making us forget about the Epstein files.

Trump rewards loyalty with betrayal – that’s all he’s ever done.

Don’t forget about the Epstein Files, by the way.

Look in the mirror Donny, it is only you to blame. Do us all a favor and quit forever.

I mean to be fair, Hegseth has made countless terrible choices. The real concerning part of this whole fiasco, is how someone like Hegseth can even land in this role. This guy was deemed an insider threat by his own command due to his ‘Dues Vult’ tattoo. He was barred from serving for the President Biden inauguration. He was ‘willingly’ removed from service, in our own military and this man has the absolute nerve to get on stage months ago, and talk to all of our military generals, admirals and say he’s coming for their jobs.

Hegseth was again removed from the Concerned Veterans for America in 2016 due to allegations of financial mismanagement, and alcoholism. The guy is a raging alcoholic, a known white supremacist and an overall shit human, yet here he is starting wars for a country he isn’t even allowed to fight for.

The only joke here is that he is in any leadership position. He’s just a fall guy at the end of the day, just like everyone in our President’s cabinet. People who chose money and power over moral ethics.

I am a veteran at the end of the day and I love what my country used to stand for, ideals that seem to be completely gone.

That’s how you know this conflict is a disaster lol. If it were going well he’d say, Hegseth didn’t want to do it but he(Trump) did because he’s a soothsayer who can predict the future. Or some bullshit like that.

Wait, I thought Donald said the war was going great.

    And now here it’s spiraling..

    Witch one is it?

Nobody is safe from authoritarian fascists, not even authoritarian fascists. Purges, power plays, disposal of the inconvenient, targeting scapegoats, these are all routine to authoritarian fascist governance.

Hegseth gets to join Noem and learn all this first hand.

PS. Miller’s time will come too.

  14. Fartenstein65 on

I am sure it is the comments already but in Trump’s own words the strikes in Iran obliterated all of Iran’s ability to produce nuclear weapons. So which one is it? Pretty sure we know the answer.

The part that cracked me up the most was right at the end.

“They started last … night … a little bit … the night before that …”

That’s Trump’s entire management style and these toadies know that. It’s the cost of joining the crime family.

  18. AcanthisittaNo6653 on

Except Iran wasn’t close to having a nuclear bomb, and at least 10 years from having an ICBM that could reach the US. They weren’t shooting at us like they were in the Gulf of Tonkin in 1964, not that they were shooting at us in the Gulf of Tonkin in 1964..

  19. THEbaddestOFtheASSES on

Trump clearly doesn’t understand that it doesn’t matter if Hegseth is at fault. Who’s the idiot that hired him is the automatic question that will come up next.

  20. Shot_Pool2543 on

    Typical trump M.O .

Blame someone else because he can’t and will not ever take responsibility for his own decisions and Hegseth is going to learn first hand that loyalty in the end only cuts one way.

  21. india2wallst on

I had the misfortune of watching a press conference by Pete Hegseth. It seemed more like a performance – the shifting body language, random insults at Bush and other presidents, literal 0 specific information. It’s sad to see what’s going on.

  22. thechimpinallofus on

If you read beyond the headline… Trump did not such thing (yet). This is a click bait headline. Trump merely said Hegseth was on board to doing something about Iran when Trump brought it up in a meeting. Thats not throwing someone under the bus… Trump is owning the decision in his words. So idk. Maybe read the article before commenting.
