The conflict has caused about 5 million tons of carbon emissions so far. Sure, that sounds like a lot but it’s about 0.01% of annual global emissions, and the war is keeping oil and gas from being burned that otherwise would. A nontrivial share of the oil and gas industry in the Persian gulf is currently shut down, and the higher prices are reducing demand a bit around the world. Of all the things to be worried about with this conflict, I’m not sure the emissions is worth your time.
