How long are people going to keep pretending this isn’t going to affect Labor as well?

Has Labor considered standing for something?

The gas tax talk was a free gift, wasted without discussion.

    > Labor is still ahead, but the latest federal polls suggest a move against them. A DemosAU MRP poll has One Nation winning 52 of the 150 House seats and the Coalition just nine. A Victorian poll has the Coalition gaining a 52–48 lead over Labor.

    From [Demos itself](https://demosau.com/news/demosau-mrp-poll-feb-march-2026/):

    > The DemosAU MRP Poll shows if a federal election was held now, Labor would win 77–86 seats, One Nation 46–55 seats, Coalition 9–17 seats (Liberal 9–15, Nationals 0–2), Greens 0–3 seats, and Others 2–6.

For context, Labor won 77 seats in the 2022 election. So at a minimum they would repeat the same victory that launched Albanese into government. Not too concerning just yet, particularly if it’s just the Coalition and PHON splitting the votes between themselves and unable to make progress in urban seats.
