The 15-point plan reads more like a business merger than a peace treaty. Experts are flagging the fact that Iran has spent decades preparing for exactly this kind of asymmetric warfare. You can’t just Board of Peace your way out of a regional conflict when the other side holds the geographic high ground and a network of proxies that aren’t interested in a $1 billion joining fee.
Not a military or strategic genius but starting to refer to the main conflict point by your name is probably not going to win you any points with an angry adversary that calls you imperialist and egotistical among other things.

Its a truly desperate situation. IDF is claiming the army is collapsing under 900 days of war and Israel is running on the assumption that the entire US stockpile of interceptors are theirs for the taking which could be extinguished in months and suddenly tel aviv is actually in an existential crisis. They underestimated Irans ability to project power and over estimated the US ability to protect them. Theres just so much permanent damage across the board. The middle east, US is looking more and more like a paper tiger by the day, and our relationship with countries that assumed they were under the protection of US are starting to contemplate alliances elsewhere.
His lone goal now is to open the straight of Hormuz. Which of course it was until he bombed them on behalf of Israel, which is now facing three fronts. This is why having a business person running policy is friggin stupid. He wanted regime change and got it to an extent, (yeah, we know it’s worse) but is bombing the people that he wants to accept the change and instead rallied the entire country against the US. Plus he gets bored easily and wants to move on now that he’s screwed it all up.
I think Trump and Netanyahu, personally (not the US and Israel) owe reparations to Iran. If there were a civil case in a court of law, these two guys would be 100% liable for the damage they caused. You break it, you by it.
Trump basically gave Iran an excuse to toll booth the strait of Hormuz they’ve been salivating and instigating to get this outcome.

Trump simply can’t help himself. No matter what he’s told he will double and triple down on his demand for “unconditional surrender.” If and when he is forced to retreat (likely by Congressional support evaporation) he will claim that was always the plan and half of the United States will believe him.

The “15 point plan” is always the red flag. in diplomacy, the more points you have, the less likely any of them are enforceable. if you can’t get them to agree on point 1 (not blowing each other up), points 2 through 15 are just creative writing exercises. iran knows we have zero domestic appetite for another “forever war,” which is the only real leverage they need. unless point 16 is “invent a time machine and don’t tear up the original JCPOA,” this is dead on arrival.
Strait named Trump will be granted at and below seabed depth. Iran will invite Trump to inaugural celebration.

Iran has literally all of the leverage.
You cannot possibly think you can go into a country where the culture is “if I die in war, I have better afterlife” and expect them to not WANT to die in war.
They want to either live freely or die. Trump cannot understand this concept because he doesn’t believe in anything and conservative Christian’s don’t believe in anything either so they’re just as lost.

If it weren’t for the catastrophic affect this war is having with our global economies I would like to just sit back and laugh at Trump for making what might be historically recognized as the dumbest move ever made by a human being.

I predict it will eventually get so bad, that Europe and the rest of us will say ‘Enough is enough’ and will actually have to get involved. By sending ships to the Persian Gulf to protect Iran from further US aggression.
Think about Iran+Russia, rather than Iran alone.
The US is relieving sanctions on both Russia and Iran so they can sell their oil. Win for them. Loss for us.
The US is reducing support for Ukraine, possibly diverting munitions. Win for them. Loss for us.
The US is collapsing the oil and other supply chains, along with the world economy. Win for them. Loss for us.
The entire Republican party is sitting on their hands while their rich doners see their investments reduce and their business suffer. How the rich doners aren’t screaming at them on their phones is a mystery.
It’s not that Trump’s plan isn’t working. It’s that he has no plan. He doesn’t seek the advice of strategic military experts. He only has reactions and feelings, and the performance of his businesses show that, well, those don’t serve him well.

1 week later, War is not won. You ask your allies you spent the last 12 months shitting on for help, they tell you to get bent.
Another week later, you realize you’re bad at war, offer peace from the bombings you started. Iran tells you to get fucked, mission failed.
