I’ve been thinking about this for a day or two, even went as far as checking new rentals near my office building. If this war drags on for more than a few more months and we are seeing no sign of it ending, I may actually consider moving since my lease is up for renewal anyway. I chose to live further for cheaper rent, but if the gas prices+ are actually equivalent to what DT rent is, might as well move DT and save myself some sleep+commute time.

Gas prices are too high, might as well walk. The catch is not many of us have the luxury to do so. :/

A number of countries have declared an emergency because they are going to run out of oil. Mostly island countries. Even New Zealand. People don’t realize that even if the war ends tomorrow, the infrastructure has been so badly damaged, it is going to take years to repair. And if we compare this disaster to the oil embargo of the 1970’s, then bare in mind that the world’s population has doubled since then and we now depend on oil for over 6,000 products needed to produce items like food to yarn.
