  1. Well the Military Archbishop isn’t wrong 😉

But seriously, imagine god – your god, whichever one you worship if any at all – sponsoring war.

  2. Lots of “Gods” involved in this war: Jewish God, Jesus, Sunni-Allah, Shia-Allah. – Greek Gods and Roman Gods stay at home, sensibly. They only interfere in EU matters these days. – Nordic Gods are busy preparing the defence of Greenland. No a peep heard from the Egyptian Gods although all this is happening in their neighborhood. – It is about time that these “Gods” give us a sign that they really exists. Or could it be so that gods does not really exist! That they are man-made inventions from times when we could not look back to the beginning of time and watch all of cosmos? If you turn on your brain and start thinking then the answer is clear.

  3. Keep in mind how the majority of the crusades went.

If the Christian god is real, you’d think a quick history on your own religion would teach you he does *not* like people trying to do this shit.

Of course he wouldn’t. The only version of God that would support what this regime is doing is Supply Side Jesus, and that’s only because he’s like the mirror universe version. Like Republican Christians, it’s all about being as awful as they can be

  5. Archbishop said what we all feel. God ain’t blessin this mess. Trump started it alone.

  6. if God isn’t signing off on this mess, I guess we’re just stuck with the world’s worst game of Risk who’s passing the popcorn?

This is actually a massive shift. Usually, the chaplaincy and high-ranking religious military figures are the ones providing the moral ‘justification’ for the boots on the ground. When the Archbishop comes out and effectively pulls the divine mandate, it creates a serious PR nightmare for the recruitment offices.

I’ve been revisiting the story behind Mass Effect and the parallels are… creepy.

  9. I would never want to say it’s not possible there is a supreme being that has specifically chosen this one planet and the people here out of the mind boggling number of living species in this possibly infinite universe because as a scientist I can’t discount the remote possibility it could be true. However, the odds are so infinitesimally low that the possibility of it also be just as true that we are all living in some kind of simulation. If that’s the case and the simulators happen to read this: Please remove Trump from the game… he’s cheating!

  10. >Military Archbishop Says There’s No Way God Is Sponsoring This War

Ahhh… but ***the Antichrist***… an enthusiastic sponsor.

  11. I don’t even think Thor would be interested in this one even though his hammer is a bunker buster.

The military archbishop was unfamiliar with El Cucho, “The Old Man”, aka The Coma Kid, or XOXO, and his use of a sharp periodontal curette to engrave thoughts on the inside of our skulls to immanentize the apocalyptic war between the Club Kids and the Hasids.

Grown ups discussing if their fantasy God is for or against something…

  14. Well no shit. Afterall they’ve only literally been referencing only a few books of the Old Testament, completely ignoring the test in the New Testement.

  15. IJustLookLikeThis13 on

I don’t know, man. God sponsors a lot of dumb shit. Touchdowns. Knockouts. Crusades.

  16. If a divine entity is sponsoring this, then he is getting a raw deal by having Kegsbreath on the payroll.

A DUI hire if there ever was one. Affirmative action for dumb white guys.

  17. I’m impressed that he became a military archbishop without channeling an appropriated God.

  18. “goes against Catholic teachings’. Well there’s your problem, it’s only against one denominations teachings.

It’s a nice change from the support given in WW2. Still, didn’t help hitler much.

We really need to stop mixing the magical sky daddy in with our government. See where it has gotten us? Lets stop that.

  20. FoxyInTheSnow on

Is this why he’s holding a “good friday” service at the pentagon, but only for fanatical protestants?

Though I have to say: alienating catholics (approximately 70 million in america) is almost on par with alienating women.

  21. harrisofpeoria on

I don’t think this particular guy is wrong, but the fact that we have a “military archbishop” is very much part of the problem in the first place.

  22. I enjoy seeing some of the religious leadership turning against Trump and this war.

  23. God is against all conflict. He wants us to love and care for one another. It’s mankind that makes war . Perhaps history will point out how primitive man is. It will be unfathomable how we killed one another for stupid shit.
