  1. Several members of his staff have resigned, several people and organizations are withdrawing their endorsements, and his super PAC just cancelled its ad buys. I’d say he’s done.

    Love how the ‘liberal’ media pounces on Democrats but let’s Trump & Republicans slide…

  3. i didn’t know he was so committed to reaching across the aisle trying to win over republicans

    quite genius

  4. InterestingFact262 on

    I was already not voting for him but interesting that both Katy Porter & Roger Stone talked about this BEFORE it was public.

    That should about do it for his run for gov. If we were in a red state, he’d win for sure.

  6. The timing of this coming out right before the gubernatorial primary is a massive bombshell, but the specific details from the former staffer are absolutely sickening. If these reports hold up, it’s not just a campaign ender, it’s a total collapse of his public image.

  7. Ok. Now everyone gets to see the difference in how dems and reps handle this.

    Sucks to see it happen tho. Sad to see this kind of behavior from people who call themselves allies

    How interesting that it’s a Democratic politician who always looked to me like he could be Republican.

  9. The Democratics need a solid candidate for governor in California. It’s very troubling as only the top two candidates in the June primary, Republican or Democrat will advance to the run off in November. We could end up in a situation were California will only have a choice between Bianco and Hilton come November. The democrats need to get themselves organize, back one candidate in June and have the rest of the Democratic hopefuls drop out so they do not dilute the voting pool, and California ends up with a Republican only run off.

  10. Well, the good news is that, hopefully, this breaks that vote split between Porter, Steyer, and Porter.

    The votes are super fragmented among the Dems, and two republicans will win the primaries if none of the Dems can poll over 20%

  11. Well, honestly it would be beneficial if he did drop out since he kind of sucked and republicans had a chance of maybe getting top two in the jungle primary. Who would be the top 3 Dems if he did drop out?

    Trump measured a 13 year old’s tightness and commented on it to the audience, then auctioned the girl at Mar a Lago, and there is a mountain of evidence to support it

    Yes, if Swalwell is guilty, jail him, but let’s at not let this be Trump’s deflection

    See Republicans, what’s happening to this guy is what is supposed to happen when people come forward and accuse a politician of sexual misconduct.

  14. >Two family members and a friend said in interviews with CNN that she told them about the alleged 2024 assault in the following days, and CNN also reviewed text messages she sent two friends describing her allegations at the same time. “I was sexually assaulted on Thursday,” she wrote to one of her friends, adding: “By Eric.”

    >The woman also shared medical records related to her receiving STD and pregnancy testing after the alleged assault.

    Fuck this guy.

  15. The California governor race has been a shit show for the democrats in a rather mundane and easy election.

  16. surfnfish1972 on

    Notice how very few if any on the left will defend this guy. The difference between the R and L in America is not politics it is character.

  17. I think they need to put up a big picture of Bob Packwood with a caption that says, “Don’t be like this idiot”

  18. A former staffer of [Rep. Eric Swalwell](https://www.cnn.com/2026/04/10/us/eric-swalwell-sexual-misconduct-allegations-invs?utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=missions&utm_source=reddit), a leading Democratic candidate for California governor, says that the congressman raped her when she was heavily intoxicated and left her bruised and bleeding, an allegation Swalwell strongly denies.

    Three other women who spoke with CNN also alleged various kinds of sexual misconduct by the Democratic congressman – including Swalwell sending them unsolicited explicit messages or nude photos. Swalwell denied the women’s allegations.

  19. Chipmunkssixtynining on

    Swalwell sent a letter to FBI demanding his file not be released on this topic. It’s ironic because he was demanding the release of the Epstein files, but he wanted his files kept secret.

  20. It’s just depressing that so many people that rise to positions of power turn out to be disguising. If any of these allegations are true, what a fucking awful person

  21. UnhelpfulBread on

    Damn, too bad only democrats suffer the consequences of these types of allegations. Back to our one-sided “giving a shit” about victims of sexual assault.

    How are those Epstein files coming?

  22. So far, it’s mostly been people pulling endorsements:

    * The California Teachers Association (which is also supporting with ad buys)

    * SEIU CA (which is probably also supporting ad buys)

    * Senator Adam Schiff

    * Senator Ruben Gallego

    * Cong. Doris Matsui

    * Cong. Jimmy Gomez

    Honestly, this is pretty much it. Whether he bows out or not, these are significantly worse allegations than what hurt Porter’s campaign back in winter of last year (being an awful boss). It’s really more of a question of whether he’s forced to resign at this point. It’s absolutely disgraceful that he thought he could get away with this for so long, much less run for higher office.

    Swalwell’s at 12-14% in a lot of polls and I expect that the lion’s share of that will go to Porter and Steyer, with a potential opening for Mahan as essentially the only prominent Norcal candidate now that Swalwell’s been nuked. It’s a different dynamic now, and together with Trump’s endorsement of Hilton (which it turns out was probably the right call for the GOP, since the chances of 2 Dems advancing just increased significantly), the likelihood of a D lockout is very low now.

  23. PresentAwareness745 on

    if he raped somebody, then lock his ass up

    See how easy that was, Republicans?

  24. Hey republicans, watch how this is done… If there is evidence and he’s proven guilty, lock him up. No denials, no I don’t care if he did it, just facts, justice and move on.

  25. CooledDownKane on

    Unlike some other political audiences I could mention I am 100% sure his supporters will have no issue with him being extricated from politics and hopefully tried, convicted and jailed.

  26. Stillwater215 on

    If anyone asks the difference between democrats and republicans, Democratic voters will not support a rapist for office.

  27. Assuming these accusations are true, how was he able to run for President and not have these emerge then?
