  1. Can he propose an anti corruption pro America first platform that’s openly anti Israel and I’m in.

  2. We’ve got an entire nation of possibilities, but we keep selecting people that didnt do well in primaries last time. Why?

The Republicans could promise to start a nuclear war if they win 2028 and right wing voters would still vote for them over a woman or a gay person.

  4. can we get through ’26 first? if we still have a republic, then we can argue about the dem presidential candidate.

If you thought electing a woman as president was hard in this country….

If he wins the primary, I will happily vote for him.

He’s likely not going to be my top choice in the primary, but I do respect him and appreciate the way he elevates the conversation on both sides of the aisle.

Ahh yes someone who will immediately fall in line to the current DNC that refused to divest from Israel. He’ll inspire the country surely 👍

Then when he loses because no one liked his policies, we’ll be chastised by liberals claiming America just can’t handle a gay president

  8. A Kamala article and a Pete article within a couple of hours?

How about let’s stay away from the people within the party who can be directly and credibly blamed for the situation we’re in right now.

Democrats need to swing for the fences with an imagination grabbing populist candidate. This milquetoast dweeb is not it.

  10. Please dont. We need real change not another corporate, consultant class shill. He may be charismatic sometimes but his loyalty is to the establishment.

Yeah, middle of the road McKinsey man is exsctly what we need to fix corporate control of the presidency.

Theres a lot of names being floated for Dems in 2028: Harris, Buttigieg, Newsom, AOC, Kelly, Shapiro, Beshir, ect…

I really hope that we actually see a primary with a lot of them. I want the Dems to run a highly publicized primary were people seriously debate issue, talk about platform and plans maturely without aggression, engage in NO personal attacks or attack ads, no dodging questions, to garbage political spinning, and just keep it entirely about the issues and show America how it should be done. That would set a tone for a serious about issues 2028 presidential election where they can hammer issues and not sensationalism

  13. Is there anyone NEW in the Democratic Party running? It’s been the same folks since 2016 at this point.

  14. I like Pete, but he has not proven he could win any statewide election in his career yet

Nobody wants any of these “stars” the Democratic leadership wants to anoint and force down our throats. Sexuality aside “Mayor Pete” is actually an Ivy League Rhodes Scholar McKinsey goon who was probably also working for the CIA at one point. He’s like the definition of [clueless Democratic Party insider] and basically the least desirable candidate on the planet.

All these guys suck. We need to flip the board over on them.

Edit: he represents the worst tendencies of the Democratic Party, not the beltway.

Unfortunately he could never win in America, if he’s the nominee, he’s going to lose.

  17. princesoceronte on

We really need a better candidate. Like a historically amazing and progressive one. I don’t think the American voter can deal with yet another do-nothing democrat to further proof that in this country having enough money makes you untouchable.

He’s not as blatantly sleazy as Gavin. He probably has a better thumb on the pulse than Harris and wouldn’t, for example, go far out of his way to brag about being friends with Dick Cheney.

He’s still too much of a company man and doesn’t seem popular outside the affluent liberal base that will idolize any Dem nominee.

  19. Stupid_Sexy_Vaporeon on

They need to start campaigning now. Trump spent every day of not only his presidency but during Biden’s as well being front and center in the news with rallies and bullshit. Dems need to start pushing people to be on TV in front of the nation constantly showing how terrible life under Trump is and what they are pledging to do to fix this clusterfuck of a nation.

Waiting until “the proper time” is only going to give MAGA more time to rig it again.

Nope. I don’t have a vote for a McKinsey analyst with a weird, unaccountable history of “tourism” in the middle east.

It’s really depressing how empty I feel about everyone who has teased a presidential run so far. Like I don’t need to be inspired by a once in a generation candidate, but like could someone emerge that makes me feel a little at ease?

  22. Buttigieg has worked very hard to rebrand himself (facial hair / wearing ballcaps). As his tenure as Mayor and Secretary was fairly uninspiring, it will be interesting how he will look to set himself apart for the 2028 nomination, especially since he does not hold a public office.
