I wouldn’t count on it. Trump can leave office through death, the completion of his term in office, through impeachment and removal by Congress, or by the 25th amendment. Both of those last two options basically require a 2/3 vote in the Senate among other things. If Trump wasn’t kicked out of office early over his handling of Covid, he’s not going to be kicked out of office over the price of gas. He might lose some political influence and popularity, but we’ll still be stuck with him. Trump’s whole administration is a catastrophe, which only gets bigger the more things go wrong.
(I’m not going to rule out impeachment/removal or the 25th as a possibility if Trump’s behavior keeps getting progressively worse to the point where he loses the support of Republicans in Congress, but the price of gas isn’t an impeachable offense or grounds for the 25th to be used.)

Because “price go up” is something simple enough that the average Republican can actually comprehend because it directly affects *them,* and at the end of the day, that’s all Republicans really care about.
The problem is that, the economy is what drives if one stands or not, not the immoral/corrupted/criminal actions.

That 6$ a gallon gas is the ONLY thing that can even attempt to shake the gen pop, from their apathy and ignorance, says everything about our country.

UK here. Not sure if the folks in the US realise it but we are paying the equivalent of $8.60 a gallon. Ok, much of that is tax which goes towards stuff like universal healthcare, but Trump’s war has put the price up considerably

Trump is a signal lesson in the amount of damage that can be done when you elect the wrong person as president. No one with the intent of actually helping the American people would be doing any of this. It’s very clear that he’s compromised by Israel and Russia. He’s also engaging in market manipulation for his own gain.
Gas prices are one of those things that has an outsized effect in US Politics. It affects the price of almost everything else, and people feel it immediately. Everyone has to fill up their cars once a week or two and every trip to the pump is a dollar figure staring you in the face. Every person who ignores politics (there’s a lot of them) literally cannot ignore the price of gas to survive.
The Trump admins preferred messaging of “it’ll go down soon trust us bro a war in Iran will be good in the long run” does jack shit for people whose entire background noise in life has been forever wars in the middle east.
Trumps biggest strength was activating typically non voting low information anti-establishment people (who viewed the democratic party as the establishment).
Now they are activated every trip to the pump against the current establishment. The party that controls all 3 branches.
It really comes down do a lot of people just don’t pay attention to anything outside their immediate world. The price of gas and groceries are part of that world so they notice.
