  1. It’s hilarious to me. I see all these other extremely ethnocentric groups from their own cultures come and try to join the extremely racist groups in America. So for a few years they’re accepted until they’re inevitably thrown away because they don’t understand their own racial dynamic that means they can never be equals.

Tokens get spent. You’re not something special; you’re being played.

No the whole thing was supposed to be whites only.  How did they miss that memo?

    > But even as South Asians in the US hold a disproportionate slice of jobs in tech and health care, as well as highly visible roles in the White House, they’re facing a noxious swell of racism online—with much of it seemingly coming from MAGA adherents. **Some tell WIRED the vitriol is making them feel duped by the president and fearful that the hateful rhetoric will become a mainstay for the party.**

Excuse me? Have they been in a coma for the last decade, or…? Because they were not duped, and the hateful rhetoric HAS BEEN a feature of the Republican Party.

So to paraphrase: “All the racism seems to be coming from Republican voters. Liberal professors and their woke ideas are the worst racists because of this.” Is that right?

How does anyone say a phrase like this, and not think about how it doesn’t make any fucking sense?

Caste system adherents reap what they sow when trying to bring such racism to a democracy. Tech is fueled by racism and predation they themselves created to enrich themselves. They’re as guilty of destroying the US as any MAGA voter.

  6. Indians still adhere to a caste system in the home country (these values transfer to the states, too), are generally very wealthy here in the states, and are allies with Russia back in their country… they are basically built for MAGA.

This is not meant to be a knock on all Indians, as I’m sure there are outliers, but I know some on each end of the spectrum and am not surprised by the MAGA side being a thing.

  7. It’s all insanity and makes no sense. POC supporting him. Low-income supporting him. Military supporting him. Even non-Americans supporting him. Meanwhile, neither he or the majority of his base care about them.

  8. I wonder how many of the MAGA Indians are descendants of the Brahmin caste and can’t wrap their minds around the fact that they’re seen as undesirable no matter how they vote or how much money they have.

India’s caste society is inherently racist so it’s no surprise the beneficiaries of that society would find a home in Trumpland. It is nice to see the leopards having a go at their faces.

  10. Well, they shouldn’t be surprised. MAGA emboldens overt racism in the name of Christianity. It’s really fucked up, but hey, “we are owning the libs.”

  11. It always amazes me that they just don’t get the fact that MAGA doesn’t like brown people. People who look just like them.

Maybe they are used to the idea of their sort of brown being better than other sorts, and are okay with racism as a concept?

  12. Up here in Canada I work theae Guatamalan and Cuban dudes who fucking love trump. Its so weird. They’re super Christian and super afraid of communism and their all in these WhatsApp echo chamber groups.
