Previous time, he extended this own deadline to open the straight… or their civilization would end

My theory is that the TACO jokes really got to him. Everytime he paints himself into a corner (which happens a lot), and has to chicken out, some ridiculous threat should save his face.
Funny thing is that the very threat usually gets him in trouble a few days later.

This war is not ending any time soon. While it’s possible it could eventually become a “cold” war, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s still going on 4-5 years from now.
