    **In Brief:**

    * Donald Trump will launch a “revenge” attack on the White House media when he confronts them in person at a Washington dinner on Saturday night—then flee before there can be revenge.
    * He is expected to target publications that he has accused of writing negatively about his administration and his war with Iran, in particular, according to sources.
    * Trump will leave the White House Correspondents’ Association event after making his speech, so he will miss the presentation of press awards—one of which would be certain to embarrass him.
    * Presidents have traditionally joined the press event and are often roasted by a comedian as part of the festivities.
    * Trump will make his drop-mic departure before the entertainment. Mentalist Oz Pearlman is performing this year, replacing the usual comedian and avoiding a potential Trump roast. The president isn’t taking any chances and plans to be back in the White House before the show goes on, said the insider.

And…how would this be any different than every other time he opens his dumb mouth?

  3. His presidency has been so weak of late, he’s really searching for a scenario to flex power.

Is it even possible to be more ‘rage-filled’ ranting than the current verbal/text diarrhoea he spew everyday already?

“Hoax”, “fake news”, “horrible people”. Yawn. Same old lame shit from Simple Don.

The correspondents should post responses tagged to him on twitter and lying moron social…

Fuck that. Someone opens up like that you, as the audience, have been given license to heckle. I can almost guarantee the talent in that room will make him cry before he finishes his first whining complaint.

So let me see if I understand.

Trump plans to insult, lie, rant and then run.

I feel like I’ve seen this movie before.

That is the complete opposite of what the WHCD was created for, one day where both sides aren’t bitching about the other one and having a laugh.

Stephen Miller almost has the speech completed.

Trying to be Obama again! What a pathetic loser for the most powerful man on earth. No one likes you Donald! You don’t have any gravitas that Obama has!!

  11. The plans are being leaked because the plans are bad and his lapdog staffers don’t want to tell him the plans are bad. So they leak with the hopes that it prevents him from doing it.

  12. Oh man he’s going to call them fake news, say that their publications are failing, and say that certain individuals are nasty or low IQ. We’ve never heard these sick burns before!

They should just all boycott the event at the last minute. Let him do his speech in front of an empty room.

The press should all protest by not showing up. He can rage at the five people from Fox news and OAN

This is almost like a preemptive Costanza jerk store comeback move. I think the roast is a prominent enough social institution that even his audience would at least have a tinge of recognition that it’s him fleeing and maybe the one place where getting up and leaving after saying his piece can’t be mistaken for some pugnacious mic drop. The fact that the plan is to shit and run is so fucking embarrassing. Maybe the story gaining traction and getting a point and laugh reaction will force him to sit through it and rage. To my knowledge he’s dodged or pressured a shutdown of every correspondence dinner since his first term.

This is the stupid dinner that turned him into a super villain when Obama made fun of him. Fragile.
