  1. Dude got stopped at the first checkpoint and never even got to the same floor the event was on. The security worked.

  2. If they can lack the intelligence to make sure they themselves are secure, imagine the danger they are putting us in.

  3. Of course it did – the guys who normally plan political assassinations were all in attendance.

  4. Of course security was lax – they were too busy sucking up to Trump and his donors to actually protect the event properly. Priorities.

What if it was planned, not so much that the shooter was in on it, but they were tipped off, prepared to let the shooter go through with it? He had a shotgun and fired off shots, yet wasn’t killed by secret service? None or this adds up.

  6. Trump’s Secret Service is responsible for security wherever he goes. Are they THAT incompetent or complicit in a publicly stunt.

why was most of dumbass’s cabinet even at this fiasco?

EDIT; or fucking Vance. Fucking fartcuppers, the lot of them

The sooner people realize the Trump surrounds himself with the most incompetent people, the more sense things will make.

I’m trying to figure out where the line of succession actually stopped for Trump and Republican officials that attended this MAGA-corrupted photo op …somewhere below Rubio at Secretary of State. Did Scott Bessent attend? Kiefer Sutherland?

  10. Let me guess … a “thorough” investigation of how this could have happened is being swept under the rug, right?

I’m not one to jump on conspiracy theories but everything about this just feels slightly off. Especially Trump coming out immediately afterwards and using the shooting attempt as justification for his idiotic ballroom.

  11. The Secret Service was in charge of security.

This administration’s ignorance is only superseded by it’s incompetence.

People are going to scream how this shows how it was planned, but we also know that this administration is so unbelievably incompetent, that this isn’t outside of the norm.

I don’t quite understand why everybody is whining about security. They did exactly what they were supposed to do. Nobody got seriously hurt. The culprit never got close to the president. And now everybody wants extra security? Why? You really think you can stop incidents like this from happening?

  14. After 18 years of having to listen to every right wing conspiracy theory being peddled as fact by news correspondents, podcasters, and the current admin…

The left can have a little conspiracy theory, as a treat.

  15. While I wouldn’t put it past Trump to stage an(other) assassination attempt, I’m more inclined to believe everyone in his orbit is just fucking useless and incompetent.

How incompetent is the U.S. government to allow that?

And how incompetent is the Iranian government to do nothing?

It’s objectively bizarre that Trump didn’t go on his social and post unhinged grievances in all caps, cast blame and demand people be fired.

    Unusual behavior for him

  18. The part that really struck me as lack security was allowing all of the top leadership in one place , in a public venue which was announced several weeks prior. One well placed bomb wipes out 4 layers of leadership…. Are we not at war?

  19. I didn’t see much but I did see a guy running through what looked like 10+ security agents who were extremely slow to react

  20. Our America editor from our public broadcaster here in Australia said the security was more relaxed then our domestic airports.

    That is insane.
