Makes you wonder, virtue signal to who? Israel and their blood boiling hatred of any arab nation?
I feel most would have no problem getting them back and putting them on trial for supporting such organisations, yet making a fuss over a bunch of silly women is far more politically popular in their eyes

Well, here they are. Now all the same people are telling them to get f-‘d.
They betrayed Australia to join The Islamic State and now that has collapsed want to come crawling back, sob stories in lieu of mea culpa.
Is it just me, or is the conversation publishing a lot more outrage bait headlines lately?
*Edit: Not saying that the article itself doesn’t raise any fair points – but the headline claim of “Albo prioritising politics dangerously” has quite the editorialised ring to it.
I have sympathy for the children, but these women left Australia because they support ISIS and are currently in a very dangerous country where Australian officials who travelled to assist them would have to risk their lives. Why do they deserve assistance to return to Australia?
The [Consular Services Charter](https://www.smartraveller.gov.au/consular-services/consular-services-charter) quite clearly states that the government will not provide assistance to Australians overseas in all circumstances, including when “your actions were illegal” “you’ve deliberately or repeatedly acted recklessly or negligently” or “you put yourself or others at risk”; these women have clearly violated these reasonable conditions.
The claims in the article that the government would be better off facilitating the return as it would allow it to control the timing is also odd. The women will be on watch lists, and the security authorities will have plenty of warning before they arrive back in Australia.
Do we think the LNP would be better here?
