  1. GOP: “How *dare* you stop us from hurting people? If we can’t be cruel to the people we hate, *who are we?*”

Glad to see this, but it’s shameful that it’s necessary to pass these protections. The right really needs to get over their phobias of people who are different from them so that we can start working on real problems for once.

If your religion asks you to discriminate against anyone, you need to pick a new religion and the government doesn’t need to allow you a pass in the public aspects of life. And to quote Jesus about the LGBTQ+ community………….(crickets). I mean, if you’re a Christian, he wiped the slate of the Old Testament, brought something new, radical love, acceptance, inclusion. Too many worship Jesus without actually following him and that is what is destroying America.

It’s over. Everyone knows the purpose of the culture wars was to keep you distracted while billionaires loot and pillage.

    > Republicans against the bill reportedly worried that its vague definitions could conflict with religious freedom (the bill includes religious liberty protections). They specifically worried that the classification of “public accommodations” would allow trans women and girls to use the facilities that align with their gender identities.

If people being treated fairly conflicts with your “religious freedom” then fuck your religion

  6. Anything done to help people is usually “despite GOP outrage”. If they couldn’t be outraged about something, would they even be conservative?

  7. Never ceases to amaze me about how much “small government GOP” wants big government in your bedroom, undies, and bathrooms.

Sadly the PA senate is GOP controlled, so this likely won’t make it to Shapiro.

Edit: I’m not sure why this is being downvoted? This is literally the last line of the article:

    > The legislation now moves on to the state Senate, which is currently under Republican control.

  9. And of course Republicans raised the “But boys in the girls baffroom” boogieman.

A spectre of an issue that, as far as I’m aware has not been an issue.

PA is basically the only state in the northeast that still has these ridiculous fights over basic human rights, embarrassing.

What the kind of country are we living in where you can’t beat up on people who are not like you?

I know a good handful of gay Republicans. They’ve been awfully silent about politics in the last 2 years but I know they’ll happily vote for the fascist party during the next election cycle.
