  1. > Yet prediction markets are saying otherwise. As of April 30, both Kalshi and Polymarket put the former vice president’s odds of being the Democratic nominee at just over 9%.

Obviously this whole article is stupid, but this part is particularly eye-rolling. Pundits should just ignore betting markets nonsense.

  2. I’m fine with her running. It’s her winning the primary that concerns me.

  3. Here we go again ffs.

I can already hear the insufferable rubes justifying to themselves why not voting is the best choice.

I’m not defending Harris. I’d definitely prefer someone more progressive. But I will 100% vote for her over ANY republican because, well, just look the fuck around.

I get it, Dems aren’t great, but Republicans truly are the enemy of the people.

ETA: just to get ahead of all the “both sides” – “I’m not voting” folks, because I don’t have the time or interest in arguing with idiots: the Republican Party thanks you for your support.

This is the first opportunity in my lifetime for Dems to run someone with a spine and real progressive values and they are 100% gonna blow it and try to ram Kamala or Gavin down our throats. And if/when we have primaries they’re gonna repeat Bernie 2.0 and the DNC will pull whatever levers they can to defeat the popular progressive candidate.

She can run, but I hope there are other Democrats running as well and the people can choose who they want as a nominee.

  6. AncientBee5348 on

No shit but it  doesn’t make a difference if she’s running or not. She will do terrible at the primaries. It will be stupid if she decides to run again. Nobody will support her and there is already liberal media turning against her now. Newsom is what democrats should really be concern about.

  7. She has the right to run, we now have the right to choose who we want to be our candidate.

I will vote for anyone who isn’t a Republican. And yet, Harris wouldn’t be my first choice. I think the Democratic Party needs to look to the future and bring in more progressive voices. I have no doubt that Harris is qualified and a good human, but we need someone who can bring the country forward to something better.

Name recognition is the only reason why prediction markets are saying otherwise.

Gamblers only gamble on things they know.

  10. Has she even spoken out about a single issue? She clearly isn’t willing to stand up for voters.

  11. I thought she was a fantastic candidate, and my vote for her was enthusiastic. I didn’t vote for her just to be anti-Trump; I was pro-Kamala.

But then she got very, very quiet after the election. Why? Yes? She lost, but that didn’t mean she had to be silent. She should have continued to use the platform we gave her with our votes. She still represents the choice of 48% of voters. I hate Trump, but when he lost in 2020, he didn’t shut up. (Granted, he was lying and grinding the whole time, but the point is still valid.)

By retreating when we still needed our voices to be heard, if not acted on, I’m not as enthusiastic about her anymore.

Well if they do then they’re literally tanking the election on purpose

  13. I’d love to see AOC. I feel like she might actually sling the shit back at them. The days of professionalism and civility in politics are seemingly no more in your country.

I don’t think the Democratic party was capable of producing a winning candidate in 2024.

Look at how they handled Tim Walz, and even Kamala herself. Both of them were likeable in their off color moments, but it’s like the entire apparatus got scared anytime anyone was “off script”. What the party needs is raw unfiltered passion, what it produces is stale, poll tested positions. Anyone who made it through a primary would likely have had a similar fate.

That said, Kamala absolutely should not run

  15. DJMagicHandz on

Biden was supposed to be a one term president, let’s not forget that part.

  16. FlashOfFawn on

Think we need something new but I think it’s very clear Trump only won because of inflation. Thats literally it. Oh and people are fucking stupid.

  17. Sad-Tangelo6110 on

I think anyone that wants to run should. That’s what primaries are for.

  18. I have an idea. We should let everyone run who is eligible and wants to run. Then we should hold some kind of a preliminary vote to decide which candidate we should go with.

  19. The DNC is not reading the room well. Whomever is leading in their candidate selection needs to be changed too imo, they are going to get us in another situation that’s been going on since 2015-2016. They want what they want and it’s not about what we want/need at all imo.

  20. padizzledonk on

Shes awful, she is a windsock, i voted for her over trump and id do it again but there is 0 chance id vote for her in any primary. She has absolutely 0 chance and she is absolutely not what this country needs or wants

  21. OpeningMusician8804 on

I think she was actually a really great candidate, but it’s clear that Americans aren’t ready for a woman president, let alone a minority woman president. I wish this weren’t the case, but there you go. I feel very similarly about Pete Buttigieg, and I’m a gay man.

  22. tragicallyohio on

It would be an absolutely classic and expected move if the Democratic Party, as a national organization, pushed for her to be the nominee. They are so out of touch as to expect her to have a chance after losing already.

  23. Striking-Disaster719 on

Trust me she will run again, and again, and again unfortunately the DNC won’t fix the crazy.

  24. FrancisBitter on

Imagine voting for someone who has been entirely invisible since their last big failure and who has neither admitted their own faults nor said what they’d improve on to not repeat their failure.

  25. Whoever runs, dems should try having actual fair primaries this time. Hillary Clinton with the superdelegates, Biden with the dropping out of a bunch of candidates to get the candidate the leadership wanted, Harris with no primary at all. It makes the democrats look undemocratic. They seem to care more about cementing power of the centrists (to keep out the leftists) than winning elections.

Let the people speak this time and the election should be a slam dunk.

America’s owners have spent decades dragging the US to the right. They’ve done such a good job they ended up dragging the GOP completely off a cliff. The good news for them is they still have the Democratic Party which has been a Neo-liberal organization at best ever since the first Clinton administration. My prediction, MAGA gets decimated in November. The Democratic Party becomes America’s new conservative party, eventually a new labor-centric party springs up and the whole thing starts all over again.

  27. Reverend-Stu on

All the people here saying “she didn’t win the primary I won’t vote” thanks so much since trump is setting the bar for a decent president.

You lot take as much blame as the hardest maga folks..
