Iran Has Destroyed Mindblowing Number of U.S. Military Bases; More than half of the U.S.’s military sites in the Middle East have been damaged by Iranian strikes.
* The majority of the United States’ military positions in the Middle East have been damaged by Iranian strikes, according to a CNN investigation released Friday.
* At least 16 American installations across eight countries have been struck as part of Iran’s retaliatory strikes against the U.S. and Israel’s military onslaught. A U.S. source familiar with the situation told CNN that **the scale of the damage was unprecedented.** “I’ve never seen anything like this before.… These are rapid, targeted strikes, with [advanced] technology,” the source said.
* **The main targets appeared to be multi-million dollar aircraft. At the Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia, a Boeing E-3 Sentry aircraft, which provides surveillance, command, control, and communications to the U.S. military, was destroyed. That aircraft is worth nearly half a billion dollars, and is currently out of production.**
* Other targets of Iranian strikes include critical communications systems. **Radar systems will also prove the most difficult to replace. “Our radar systems are our most expensive and our most limited resource in the region,” a congressional aide familiar with damage assessments told CNN.**

This explains why Hegseth is trying to bum additional money for military housing. Iran destroyed our existing housing.

Damaged or destroyed? Kind of insane framing
ResponsibleKey1053 on
Destroyed is a bit of a contentious term to be bandying about. Inoperable, perhaps.
Edit:-
Let’s just go through this:-
Qatar (Umm Dahal / Al-Udeid Air Base): A $1.1 billion AN/FPS-132 early-warning radar was struck and damaged on the first day of the conflict
Base not destroyed.
Jordan (Muwaffaq Salti Air Base): An AN/TPY-2 radar (part of the THAAD system) was reportedly destroyed, with imagery showing debris and a blackened site.
Base not destroyed.
Saudi Arabia (Prince Sultan Air Base): Strikes hit a building near a radar dome, and imagery showed smoke rising from a THAAD radar component.
Base not destroyed.
United Arab Emirates (Al Sader & Al Ruwais): Multiple THAAD radar facilities were hit; satellite imagery confirmed damage to high-end AN/TPY-2 systems.
Base not destroyed.
Kuwait (Camp Arifjan): Three radomes (protective radar enclosures) were confirmed damaged or destroyed.
Base not destroyed.
Bahrain (U.S. Fifth Fleet HQ): Two satellite communications terminals (AN/GSC-52Bs) and multiple radomes were destroyed.
Base not destroyed.
Claiming destruction of the bases is hyperbolic.

#1 “Destroyed” is ridiculous hyperbole. #2 We have bases all over Europe that we can – (checks recent news articles), ummm, nevermind.

What is somewhat disturbing, however, is that according to intelligence reports, Russia has helped Iran with reconnaissance data, yet Trump still talks to Putin on the phone as if nothing had happened. Russia is helping Iran kill Americans, and Trump doesn’t seem to mind in the least.

Ok I’ll address the elephant in the room. Why haven’t anyone pressed this clown on the question that if he knew of 47 years that we had to go after Iran, why the need to exit Afghanistan? Wouldn’t it make logistical sense to still have a base in Afghanistan with all the equipment the MAGAs claim Joe left behind? Is this more 4D chess?

“Damaging” and “destroying” are two vastly different terms when it comes to military assets.
The drone could hit the side of a building, explode, tear off a piece of the building but not have any effect on operations. That would be “damaging” but in no way “destroying”.
Iran is striking our bases and killing our soldiers in a war that should have never happened. That is a very big deal. But that headline has been written so we must move on to the next clickbait headline.

16 is a lot but it wouldn’t considered it mind blowing, they also weren’t all completely destroyed. What a stupid headline that takes away from the actual article.

I’m wondering about US casualties. I would not put it past this administration to lie about the numbers.

We literally have Iran surrounded with bases. It’s ridiculous if you look at a map of them. They can probably launch in any direction randomly and have a good chance of hitting one.
