    From the article:

The new film is the latest adaptation of George Orwell’s novel. Based on the critiques coming from right-wing influencers, it seems few of them fully grasp the book’s message

  2. Codebender on

They have to be “confused” about a lot of things, or the cognitive dissonance would be crippling.

  3. parzival2019 on

Orwell is one of the last authors I would expect MAGA to understand. He was Democratic Socialist. Shall we wait for their interpretation of Marx?

  4. And it doesn’t help that the film makers have added some kind of weird happy ending, apparently.

They even dumbed down the message and mofos are STILL struggling to comprehend it.

I think they’re beyond salvation at this point.

  6. FarImprovement2840 on

A lot of them have a 5th grade education so they are confused about many things

  7. _probablyryan on

They’re confused about Green Day. Animal Farm might as well be loop quantum gravity.

These are the same people that think *Born in the USA* praises America, that Jack is the hero of *Lord of the Flies* and that Luke Skywalker is a terrorist.

‘MAGA is confused about’ followed by most things is a true statement. There should be a Mad Libs book based entirely on this premise.

Give it a few days. They need to be told what to think first.

It’s fine, the director and crew were confused too.

Having the pigs get “corrupted” by an outside influence really waters down the messaging, and shooting for a happy ending to a cautionary tale is a choice.

Edit: hell, the whole “tech ceo rich lady comes in, monetizes the farm and corrupts the pigs into acting like nouveau riche humans thing turns the whole thing into “capitalism will capture, defang, and monetize its own criticism.”

The bad guy of the famous communist allegory is capitalism now. Please see our movie so we can make more Bible movies.

  12. Melodic-Frosting-443 on

Not to defend MAGA, but this movie is a terrible re-interpretation of the book.

Those who have actually read the book and know the backstory on why Orwell wrote it should be pissed.

  13. “Promoting communism is the new gay for pay,” right wing podcaster Tim Pool tweeted. Earlier this month, he posted that he had turned down an offer from Angel Studios to promote the film due to it being “pro communism and anti-capitalism.”

Watching these idiots turn on eachother is a joy that’s far too rare.

  14. Prior-Chip-6909 on

I got news for ya….MAGA is easily confused about *ALOT* of things.

  15. The_Chodenator on

Everyone who is trying to use this as a moment to shit on MAGA for being confused didnt see the movie. I hate MAGA too but if you read the book then you’d be confused watching it too. Writers/directors/producers for this pile of manure didnt understand the book at all & then they gave it a fucking disney ending.

  16. rapidstandardstaples on

If we’re being honest MAGA is probably confused about how the post office or self checkout works… So ‘some animals are more equal than others’ probably totally breaks their brains.

  17. feder_online on

I think it is fair to say, Mitch McConnell is one of the f-ing pigs in Animal Farm.

  18. Iwaspromisedcookies on

Maga is confused as default, but at least their fake news tells them a baseline of what and how to think so they don’t just, play in traffic all day

  19. The people who unironically danced to RATM at a MAGA rally are confused about a novella?

    Ifthosekidscouldreadtheydbeveryupset.jpg

  20. The MAGA influencers who have been told to be upset about it don’t understand it, but someone who told three MAGA folks to be upset knows exactly what it’s about

  21. >Though middle schoolers might be able to immediately grasp the takeaways from *Animal Farm,* it says something that high-profile political commentators can’t.

    Ahahaha

  22. carterartist on

I bet they are confused about 1984 as well.

The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command

  23. The same group of people confused about Rage Against the Machine?

    Shocking.

  24. These idiots thought The Colbert Report was sincere. They do not understand irony, satire, or self-reflection.
