  1. Now I’m sure all the Republican members of Congress who were outraged about a single court legislating for the entire country are rushing to microphones right now to denounce this.

The “right” and their maga center are losing very badly in public opinion so they’re obviously going back to their baseline “core” issues to try and stop the losses.

They might want to really think this through and change their leadership who is driving us all into the poorhouse.

thought nationwide injunction was not allowed anymore ?! or something like that

  4. Yes, of course the federal rules undermine the state rules. That’s how it works. That’s not a reason to ban the abortion pill; that’s a reason the state can’t.

  5. Crafty_Ish1973 on

And conservatives wonder why younger women are refusing to even date men, much less have children. 🙄

Im so sick of this nightmare the gop has created. Party of hate and evil.

  7. Judges that want to legislate for the whole country should run for Congress, rather than ruling by fiat that women don’t matter, their opinions don’t matter, they don’t have control over their own bodies, or that they can spread their toxic fascistic misogyny to other states. Corrupt activist judge hates women and enacts decision based on that contempt is a better title. Also, yeah, SCOTUS said no nationwide injunctions, so why isn’t this stopping at that shithole redstate’s border? They can’t even follow active precedent, the entire decision should be considered void. That’s before you get into irreparable harm, like millions of women losing access to contraceptive based on a single misogynistic judge’s whims.

  8. A handful of soulless billionaires will now effectively force pregnancies in order to maintain their wage slave army / cannon fodder, and braindead rednecks will support it because sky daddy. The inmates are truly running the asylum.

and here i thought we were leaving this decision to the states, not federally…. hmmm i’m starting to think these guys were lying!

The US needs to start providing decent medical care . Aussie here there would be an ultrasound then misoprostol then f/ u us to endure no retained products plus mirena or other contraception counselling here. Meanwhile radical “Christians” making it a sh*t show over in 🇺🇸

This also means anyone who takes it Cushing’s Disease where it’s used to reduce excessive cortisol production or to treat or prevent stomach ulcers can’t get it by mail either.

Women must rise up against this invasion of their privacy. Or just refuse sex indefinitely.

  13. Gee, I can only hope the blue states start making the same argument:

    >”Every abortion facilitated by FDA’s action cancels Louisiana’s ban on medical abortions and undermines its policy that ‘every unborn child is human being from the moment of conception and is, therefore, a legal person,’” the ruling states.

States rights for everyone? “Every X banned by the FDA undermines our state’s policy that women and minorities are people.” Maybe another state needs to sue Louisiana and argue its laws can’t undermine their laws and get an injunction against their injunction.

  14. time for a lot of Cushing syndrome diagnoses

plus if sent by the USPS, they would need to warrant to open that mail

we need an intermediary plain packaging service

  15. Didn’t SCOTUS recently rule that a district court can’t create a national injunction ?

How is this still a thing?

Future headlines of their push to control women and birth:

    Birth control restricted access

Attempts at outright banning birth control

    Attempts at criminalizing sterilization surgeries

Jokes on them, we can’t order by mail and have to rob the store now since our insurance already lapsed because they defunded the Affordable Care Act.

  19. States’ rights. Where the fuck are they? Oh, they lied each and every fucking time they claimed states’ rights for anything.

  20. They even used the same stock image as 7 months ago when the trump admin approved the generic version of this drug https://www.reddit.com/r/politics/comments/1nwexn5/trump_administration_approval_of_new_abortion/

Nice of them to change their minds so fast that news outlets don’t even need to look for a new photo

I don’t see as how anyone outside of the fifth federal circuit is bound by this ruling, per Trump v CASA, the decision which prohibits lower federal courts from issuing nationwide injunctions against the enforcement of executive orders.

  22. I didn’t even need to click on the link to know this was the 5th court.

Welcome to the 5th Court of Appeals! Where everything is made up and the law don’t matter!

  23. Radiant-Month-1168 on

That is not legal. Medical decisions are to be made by doctors not republicans.

Also, if you miscary then you need that same drug to avoid surgery.
That is not just for abortions.

All republicans are facist anti-constitution morons.

They think this will make women have babies. No.

Get long term or permanent birth control NOW

    An IUD lasts 8-10 years.

I opted for tube removal surgery. If I ever wanted kids in the future I could get IVF in Spain where it’s much safer, cheaper, and better regulated.

I know several younger women like 25 and under who are going to get sterilized and freeze their eggs.

If voting doesn’t work and we see that they’re slowly taking those rights away, what else can we do?

    >In the ruling, Judge Kyle Duncan, who was appointed by President Donald Trump, agreed with the state of Louisiana’s contention that allowing the drug to be mailed there makes moot the state’s ban on abortion at all stages of pregnancy.

    >“Every abortion facilitated by FDA’s action cancels Louisiana’s ban on medical abortions and undermines its policy that ‘every unborn child is human being from the moment of conception and is, therefore, a legal person,’” the ruling states.

Supremacy Clause no longer applies, I guess.
