Smart move on his part to say so.

It makes Putin look weak as hell in front of the world

  2. All they need is enough drones to cancel the parade. I hope they were saving up so that the strike was more memorable than the parade.

Makes Putin need to pull airdefense from other regions, thus leaving them more vulnerable. I don’t suspect he will actually hit the parade.

  4. Being in a parade doesn’t stop a tank from being a legitimate military target, or every battalion would carry flowers and flags instead of camo netting.

    Gotta be misinformation.

The dunk of pissing on Victory day isn’t enough to overcome the blow back of targeting civilians.

    I think Zelensky knows this.

They can literally all be cheap decoys and it’ll still have the desired effect.

A millitary parade without any actual military equipment seems more like a protest than a show of strength.

  8. Ukrainian drones may target any legitimate target in Moscow or in any other place is Russia or a legitimate Russian target outside Russia on May 9th or on any other day.

  9. I don’t see Ukraine hitting a military parade given all the civilians around… they aren’t Russia after all. Now, what they do outside the vicinity of said parade is another matter, & I suspect cancellation of parade would be ideal outcome for them.

Hope they can do another Spiderweb attack. Hit the review stand spectacularly.

russia has a habit of sending EXTRA drones/rockets/missiles ON holidays, INTENTIONALLY, so might as well return the favor and kick them while they’re down

Ukraine should just add some colored smoke cannisters to their drones, and take part in the ceremonial flyover – on the way to the tallest Kremlin dome.

All Ukraine needs is for just one drone to get through the Russian aerial defense system. Just one drone, even if it doesn’t do any damage, sends the message that if Ukraine can reach Moscow on such an important day, Ukraine can reach Moscow every day

Just don’t destroy the T-34 Zelensky, it’s a nice little piece of history.

    Otherwise go nuts.

Watch Russia lift a trick from Hamas’s playbook and interleave High School marching bands and teenage dance troupes into their parade along with nurses and doctors and daycare children on their own floats.

  16. jack_lamer on

He is saying this so that russia will allocate more anti air to the parade, so ukraine can strike somewhere else

  17. sharksareok on

    Zelensky did not say this.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it happened, though, putin needs something to stoke his subjects and a false flag operation would be really handy

  18. My prediction: Ukraine is hinting that it will target the parade with drones. Putin is quickly deploying dozens more air defense systems around Moscow, in addition to the 100 he already has. Ukraine will launch attacks everywhere else and destroy as many refineries as it wants—the ones that had to divert their air defense resources to Moscow.

Maybe a handful of symbolic drones heading toward Moscow so the warning sirens will wail for the parade

If Ukraine can get a drone(s) onto the Red Square, it can also target the Kremlin directly. Either one would be a highly simbolic statement of determination.
