He got elected by peddling brazen falsehoods, with prominent Republicans and many people throughout the media doing exactly the same thing.
This isn’t anything new, and it’s actually less vile than a lot of the lies he’s spread over the years.

There are three possibilities. The truth could be more than one.
1. He’s lying. The Party’s final command was to reject what your eyes and ears tell you, to paraphrase Orwell.
2. He’s being lied to by his cabinet, which is very likely since he only ever wants to hear about how much of an awesome winner he is.
3. He’s just repeating garbage from his demented mind.
If I were forced to choose, I’d say it’s 2 and 3 together.
