Trump has this deranged strategy of announcing what was agreed + something extra he wants.
He did that with the Denmark/Greenland situation as well, where he claims that they agreed to have frequent diplomatic meetings (true) and that the goal of the meetings was to find a way to give Greenland to Trump (completely false).
I can’t really figure out how it’s supposed to work, it seems like it always just ends up on the other part correcting him and he either gets mad about it or forgets about the whole thing.
