So how the heck does someone on this island get it?

Sounds like they had a nice adrenaline rush.

Uk be like: send military after a single guy to check up, help and keep under control.

221 residents. That’s tiny.
When he goes on vacation, that’s nearly 0.5% of the population gone from the island.
That would be like 7.35 million Indians deciding to go on holiday simultaneously.

Mentally, hearing that 8 people plus supplies had been landed on this hard to reach island (boat or parachute only) to look after you, would make a great difference I’m sure.
On the BBC they also called them a British national but said they lived on the island.

Absolutely my favorite paragraph of the article. Here I was thinking “well fuck those guys ever going home!”

Dropping military paratroopers onto the most remote island on Earth over a suspected virus is literally the opening scene of a zombie apocalypse movie.

It’s been my dream to do this cruise. You go to Tristan de Cunha, Ascension Island, St. Helena Island, and more. It starts in Argentina and ends in the Canary Islands. I am so sorry for every on this cruise and the island who has been affected, especially for those who knew the passenger that died. For me personally, I guess this means I will never get to do this because I don’t think it will ever be offered again. At least St. Helena has an airport now, so you can fly from South Africa.
