When even the German chancellor is openly saying he wouldnt advise his own children to study or work in the US anymore, thats a pretty remarkable sign of how much Americas image abroad has changed in just a few years.
The US used to be seen almost automatically as the place for opportunity, universities and career ambition. Hearing allied leaders talk about the country more like a politically unstable culture war battleground would have sounded unthinkable not that long ago.

Congratulation americans, you did the impossible. You broke up the strongest alliance in the world. Hope the new world order will treat you accordingly.

I hate Trump and agree that America has profound problems. But this is a BS position.
America is still a great place to get an education or visit. America’s problems may be bad, but so are Germany’s. Yet I still think we should visit Germany/germany has a lot to offer the world.

As an American. I agree with Herr Merz. I’m not exactly thrilled with the fascist direction my nation has taken since trump came into power.

Almost no Americans are interested in sending their children to Germany for school either. Why would Germans even go to a United States university when they pay for school already via taxes.
You can keep your Nazi country no one in America cares.

Are there any countries accepting Americans as refugees yet?

I’m an American. I wouldn’t advise anyone short of wealthy people or those willing to do anything for money to come here.
If you aren’t rich or willing to dedicate your life to pursuing money and will put everything second to that then life is probably better in the majority of other countries.
