I have to say this is unexpected, i live close to Modena and it’s a small chill town (population under 200k), i remember the cases in Germany, France i wouldn’t have expected it to also happen so close to home

Stories like this always hit me because those pedestrians were probably just doing completely normal everyday things a few seconds earlier without any idea their lives were about to change.
I cant imagine how terrifying it must be for the victims and their families. Even if people physically recover, something like that can stay with you mentally for a very long time.

This happens a lot in China by people being economically ruined by the government’s policies, and then essentially being abandoned without any hope of recovery.
While the BBC and the perpetrator’s origin are suspect, really do need context and motive.
