Bro if you’re lucky enough to have been born in Europe you should NEVER want to come to the US, even for vacations. Don’t jump into a sinking ship. Source: live in the US.

>The German leader — who previously headed the Atlantik-Brücke, an influential network that promotes U.S.-German ties — told schoolchildren on April 28 that the American president had been “humiliated” by Iran and lacked a coherent strategy for the war that broke out in late February following joint U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iranian targets.
As opposed to Putin’s invasion of Ukraine in Germany’s backyard going on 4 years now? We won’t go into how Zelensky needs to keep the US involved by making frequent appearances. Even he knows the EU is all talk and no bite.
But the important thing is making headlines for putting down the US and Trump. That’s the real priority.

“my admiration is not increasing” lol that must be the most tepid criticism ever

The implication is that he WAS telling his kids to move to the US before? Seems like a stupid position, either way.
Not sure that the current US admin really cares about Merz’s opinion about the US. Certainly, the titans of industry in Germany are continuing to look outside of Germany for opportunity.

He’s still busy bringing us American levels of poverty and antisocial policies.

He should have been more blunt. “My admiration is below zero into minus.”
That would have for sure pissed of Trump.

Merz likes talking about his children. The most recent anecdote I remember is him recounting how his youngest daughter once asked him during a walk what a stock share actually is.
His children are in their mid-forties.
One daughter is a physician, the other a lawyer, while the son is some vaguely specified doctor of the humanities.
