It’s not a pandemic. It looks like the cases are just in Africa. It’s bad but regional. They mention there are regular outbreaks in that area.

This is what is called a “Standing Head”, which is shorthand for this happens over and over again, over and over again in the DRC. As I recall I believe this is at least almost the 20th time, and that’s only the outbreaks that make the news. This has been happening a long time now.
