I’m not a One Nation fan, but starving opponents of staff is a dog act.

  2. Tell her there’s only one poll that counts – the election. Resources are based on the number of MPs not delusions of grandeur based on popularity polls.

As long as the government is following the rules, One Nation isn’t entitled to anymore resources than what’s stipulated in policy like say Pocock or the Greens or any other Independent. If Pauline has a problem with that then she has to put a Bill forward (I don’t know the exact process) to get the staffing allocation increased. Then it’ll be the same for everyone. I saw her Budget reply speech and how it was tabled on the APH website. They’re not allocating their current resources properly because the printer didn’t even work.

    >Hanson: I am the leader of a political party that is polling more than major political parties. The government has failed to staff One Nation anywhere close to a functional level.

*Polling* is the correct term. Once you’ve actually *won* the seats you’ll receive resourcing commensurate with your numbers in the Parliament.

Hanson is all against the (apparent) bloated bureaucracy of the federal public service – until she needs it.
