  1. Wow, that article is appalling. The midwife sounds like an absolute witch that hates women.

This is disgraceful. More people need to be brave enough to complain about these things to weed out people who just shouldn’t be anywhere near vulnerable patients.

  3. The midwife didn’t believe me when I said my epidural line had come out. It was literally spilling out liquid that should be blocking the pain in my body. F that woman.

A midwife tried to send me home with a paracetamol when I was in my third labour. She was convinced I was just having Braxton Hicks. Luckily I refused because I had the baby 20 minutes later – I’d have given birth in the car if I’d have listened to her.

  5. It’s funny isn’t it what a difference they make. Our first midwife was the loveliest old lady you could have wished for. Never left my wife’s side full of encouragement and joy.

The second was horrendous. Didn’t want to stay in room. Accused my wife of wasting her time. Said only to press call button in an emergency.

Then my wife really felt like the baby was coming we pressed the button and she moaned the whole time about my wife making a fuss.

I mean she was but I have never had a baby so my guess was she was in pain

Husbands need to be allowed next to their wife’s at all times. The amount of bullshit midwives do to vulnerable women is appalling.

Couldn’t be a more vulnerable time and to be treated like this is absolutely abhorrent. Why get into health care if you hate the care part of it?

Our first midwife we had was a proper dick to me (the dad) and quite matron like. She even told me to shut up when I was trying to comfort my wife.

On our second child the midwives were spot on.

a few hours before i gave birth, i was told matter of factly by two bitchy midwives that i wasn’t due for another week, and to go home. they further said they had no bed for me. i refused to leave. they begrudginly got me a bed, but they all ignored me. nobody helped me until i was screaming because i was about to give birth. only then, did the midwives SLOWLY arrange for me to be wheeled down to the labour ward. no apology. nothing. after i gave birth, i was basically ignored as well. no support from anyone.

I was induced was last checked at 6pm started feeling pains like cramps around 9 tried to sleep through it and there was a massive pop. Waters broke, pressed the bell nurse came told me I wet myself and made me change the bed and then told me to get a bath, I asked for pain relief and she would see if she had time. I was pulled out of the bath at 8cm dilated after I screamed the place down. I wasn’t even examined from the point of expressing pain and my water breaking. Absolute arsehole for someone’s first time
