President Donald Trump and his family are being protected from facing any tax audits or penalties for unpaid taxes as part of the settlement after Trump withdrew his $10 billion lawsuit against the IRS.

The one-page document signed by Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche was posted one day after the Justice Department revealed the creation of a $1.776 billion “anti-weaponization” fund, which critics warn will be used to pay out Trump allies with taxpayer dollars.

The vaguely worded document posted on Tuesday declares the IRS is “FOREVER BARRED and PRECLUDED” from “prosecuting or pursuing” all claims and “examinations” of Trump or “affiliated individuals” as well as related trusts and businesses.

Fuck this and fuck all those corrupt politicians letting this fucking idiot grift America with no recourse

It’s to the point where the overwhelming amount of corruption is just mind-numbing. And to think he’s not even half way through his term. This is going to get so much worse.

The message is that, at a certain net worth, you are above the law. The government now is barred from investigating blatant corruption, but God forbid you declare a home office that you only use 50% of the time.

Surely they can ‘declare’ whatever they want. How is the legal standing for such bullshitery?

  6. NoMoOmentumMan on

    Naw, fuck that.

This guy tore up ever deal he could, I say do the same to this one once his ass is out.

I know *why* there was a “settlement,” but how in the world can it be called a settlement when the judge overseeing the case already had it in her mind to dismiss the case altogether? It was going to be a slam-dunk win for the defense, which is not exactly when you start talking about settlements with the plaintiff.

Why do MAGAs continue to support this blatant grift? Do they think someday this will all happen for them?

Another day, another millions of dollars stolen from hardworking American taxpayers

I hope somebody in the media points out how this means Trump and his family know they’ve committed crimes by not paying their taxes.

After we rid him and his ilk of power, watch them point to this administration as an example of fraud, waste, and abuse as a reason to cut or eliminate more oversight and service meant to help the people.

  12. In order to have a settlement, you have to actually have a settlement. The judge specifically said in the court order that there is no settlement.

  13. Fuck you, hey MAGA is this what you like? Getting robbed by pedos and then giving them protections from breaking the law like you could never dream of?

  14. RociBuldidi on

I mean, his personal lawyer/AG Blanche can “sign” whatever document he wants. It doesn’t carry the actual protections of law. It’s basically the equivalent of an EO, which any future DOJ or President can ignore.

But then all Dems want to do is “sing kumbaya and reach across the aisle” so I have no illusions they will ignore it, but they could.

Here is hoping Trump is stupid enough to think that protects him and he forgets to pardon himself and his entire family before he is out of office.

  15. Northern_Ice_2501 on

The whole Trump family. They are so vile. I know it’s a huge understatement but I’m running out of words. Bust out the thesaurus I guess.

  16. SingularityCentral on

Fuck this man. Fuck this corruption. This is some deeply radicalizing bullshit.

  17. dreadthripper on

Opening the door to pardon himself for all other crimes on the way out the door if the SCOTUS lets this stand.

  18. The corruption is just so deep. And every republican is responsible for it. they knew it was there, and they supported it with all their might.

People who think there’s going to be some Nuremberg-level of accountability when this is all over are going to be sorely disappointed.

And yet Americans with student loans are set to have their wages garnished on debt that’s been largely forgotten for almost a decade this year. FDTtH

The US is a joke. The Republican party is a criminal organization.

  22. Veritable_Vox on

Not just Trump but his whole family too. As well as anyone financially associated with Trump or any of his organizations. Which means Trump and his cronies are forever off limits from being investigated financially.

  23. bleachbezel on

Y’all voted for this bullshit! I’m pissed off at ALL OF YOU!! *that didn’t vote for Harris

Yesterday I made a comment how the $1.7bn slush fund was the most corrupt thing trump had done this far.

Well… welcome to another day and a new low. The precedent and danger this sets, along with his slush fund and hiding transactions behind his crypto curtain is just astounding.

I’d like to remind some that Al Capone was only caught and sent to Alcatraz on account of the IRS – not for any of the killings. So this basically needs to be rejected and recinded at the first chance. No debate needed IMO

  25. So this settlement means that not only Trump, but his entire family and BUSINESS ASSOCIATES can never be investigated for tax crimes. They will literally live the rest of their lives without having to pay a cent in taxes

This is so unbelievably disgusting that I can’t see how anyone could support this. I’ve seen maga argue that Biden did the same thing when he pardoned his family, but that was for past crimes. It was not blanket amnesty for life
