Memorial to Pavlo Cherevko

Senior Soldier Pavlo Cherevko, call sign Osa, fell on May 8, 2022, in Mariupol, Donetsk region. The warrior will forever be 22 years old. Another Hero killed by russian orcs.

Pavlo was born in Zakarpattia. He grew up in Dnipropetrovsk region. He loved sports, animals, and fishing.

He trained as a tractor driver. He worked at the Metinvest enterprise in Kryvyi Rih. He completed his compulsory military service.

“That was where he signed a contract,” his mother said. “My son told only his father about it; I found out later. I was very worried and asked him why he had done it. And my son answered: ‘Who, if not me.’ And he added: ‘Mom, forgive me, but this is my choice.’”

Pavlo served as a senior machine gunner in the 21st Separate Brigade named after Petro Kalnyshevsky of the National Guard of Ukraine. He went on rotation to Mariupol, already his fifth, on February 8, 2022.

The defender was posthumously awarded the Order “For Courage,” 3rd class.

Pavlo is survived by his mother, father, sister, brother, and son.
