Thousands of Brazilians defend Ukraine. The biggest need they have is help to cover flights. Protect a Volunteer helped this soldier get a flight home for a break to see his daughter. If you have airline miles, hotel points, or money, you can help a volunteer defender go to or from Ukraine.

The majority of foreign defenders assisting Ukraine are South American. They are willing to go and willing to risk their lives but there are some thing the rest of us can do to help them. The big one is to cover the cost of their flights. Their flights are expensive and if you are here for years, it’s likely that at some point you want to go home and see family or recover from injury.

This is a Brazilian military veteran who recently received a flight home. This is what he had to say about receiving a flight:

“Thank you so much. This payment will help me a lot. I am Brazilian, a ——- officer in Brazil for 11 years… I took a one-year leave of absence to help Ukraine in this fight. I served in the ——- as a combat driver. And I intend to return within a few days or months. But right now I need to see my daughter.”
