The response was shock and silence from most leaders on the call so that should tell you how it went

Don’t most of those countries have full diplomatic relations with Israel already?

Edit: the thought came to me that many of these countries may not officially recognize Israel nor have official relations, but they all probably have some kind of intelligence relationship due to Iran’s proxies.

For example, Saudi Arabia shares a bunch of intelligence about Houthi assets with Israel so Israel can be the country that bombs them instead of Saudi Arabia.

So Trump is saying “I want you guys to say the quiet part out loud with Israel” and they’re like “that’s not a great idea for us personally at home politically.”

  3. Asking Muslim leaders to join the Abraham Accords after a war ends is… optimistic timing. The silence on the call says more than any statement would. Also, several of those countries already have quiet ties with Israel formalizing them post-war might be less about peace and more about realignment.

This would be a reasonable mistake if you think the history of Middle East began in 2021.

He keeps stepping on foreign policy rakes anyone with a vague understanding of the region would’ve avoided. It really is remarkable how catastrophically dumb this POTUS and his robust stable of ‘advisors’ are.

If I were MAGA I’d assume his cabinet and inner circle are sabotaging him through all of this because that makes just as much sense. I refuse to believe all of the foot shooting isn’t planned by people in his ear to make him look bad.

  5. you know what I just realized? Trump is like Holly’s sleezy co-worker from Die Hard. He thinks he can negotiate his way through everything and anything but has now bit off more than he can chew.

He constantly mocks Obama for having Hussein as a middle name (from his father) yet he thinks the Middle East is in his pocket.

I think the Middle East leaders are all onto his racism by now.

He’s doing this because he needs a face saving ‘win’ out of the situation. It would be his Mission Accomplished banner.

What I can’t wait for is the Qataris and the Saudis to divest out of Jared’s fund. They bought in thinking it brought them American protection. Oops.

This would make a lot of sense. The Iran war shows the changing alignment in the Middle East with Iran attacking neighbors unprovoked like Saudi, Qatar, UAE and Oman, and Israel helping to defend some of these nations.
