  1. Good for her. I ain’t voting for her though.

The city is an absolute shitshow, and has been since before her to be fair, but she’s done little to actually fix anything. The roads are all torn up, allowing a marathon on Mother’s Day weekend while also a complete DVP shutdown was a fiasco. The condo market crashed and the city did fuck all to help it, while Doug Ford of all people actually made an effort.

Homeowners get to enjoy their low property taxes while the shelters are overflowing, people are living in tents, every new build condo is made $200,000 more expensive to “pay for infrastructure” the city doesn’t actually install (it’s what they’ve been using to fund other projects), and the city blows cash on stupid shit like Sankofa Square.

Yeah she’s negotiated some decent deals and secured ttc funding, even though they’re still horrifically underfunded, but most of Toronto is suffering and City Council is doing fuck all about under her leadership.

To be fair she is a substantial improvement from John Tory but literally anyone would’ve been given Tory barely did anything to begin with.

Let me try and predict this. Well have a mayor with a. good track record. And some new guy will run against her. He’ll avoid a platform, saying mayors don’t do platforms. He’ll wink at every side. Barely campaign. Simply he’ll solve everything but not say how. Social media will erupt with far right talking points, a hotbed of racism from people who don’t live in or near Toronto. The fella will win, and do absolutely nothing. Four more years of stagnation! It’s a well known story, we’ve seen this one before.
