Commented this in r/OntarioLiberalParty, but I might as well comment it here as well:
A few OLP MPPs have already endorsed Lee Fairclough, along with basically an endorsement from Kathleen Wynne.
I suspect Bains will receive some MPP endorsements as well, and I can see Rob Cerjanec getting at least one (assuming he enters).
Assuming NES still enters the race, this could actually turn into a multi-horse race with no clear front runner.
I can also see one of Fairclough or Cerjanec dropping out later on and endorsing the other, which would add another layer.
Interesting times!

There might be a few more names that enter until the deadline to pay the $150k entry fee is due. Then we’ll know who the serious candidates are. So far its just Nate and Bains

Seems like he should be the overwhelming favourite, unless some new information comes to light.
His social media seems to be using the same styling that Freeland/Crombie used, which should raise some eyebrows given its ineffectiveness.
The fact that this race is going to stretch on until November is crazy though, it’s going to be a snoozefest with very little paying attention.
What’s he campaigning on? What does he want to do? What’s his analysis of why our society is unsustainably crumbling and how to turn it around?
A neoliberal corporate class party establishment Rogers exec isn’t going to meaningfully deal with our society and economy’s problems. They don’t have any analysis that even understands what our problems are, let alone how to fix them.

Yep, no better person to attach your fortunes to than a former telecom executive. The telecom oligopolgy is very popular in Canada and the high-paid executives of those companies are almost universally admired by the common person.

This was one of the guys calling, almost demanding, higher immigration in 2022. Even when it was at its peak he was calling for more, was a huge advocate for TFWs and international students, and wanted to drastically increase PRs for all of them. Given how all that went and the shitshow we’re facing now it would just be another suicidal decision by the OLP to run him.
Nevermind the fact he quit federal politics to go work for CIBC and Rogers a few years ago and now suddenly wants to be the liberal leader?

Bains is tight with Trudeau and has always been in the inner circle. I can see Trudeau lending his star power to Bains in an election campaign which would go far.

Oh good, can’t wait for the Rogers shill to become Premier, I can’t think of a better outcome for the working class

Who exactly is running?
Navdeep Bains, who as industry minister oversaw the worst years of economic growth in living memory? Or Navdeep Bains, who advocated for crushing immigration and lower standards for TFW visas while Canadian unemployment soared? Or Navdeep Bains, the monopolistic telecom lobbyist?

What does Bains stand for [besides performatively rolling up his sleeves without saying anything of substance](https://x.com/BainsHQ/status/2058972653558317283)?
