  1. We need the Clarity Act to do its job.

    Expecting people to provide a yes or no response to:

    “Should Alberta remain a province of Canada or should the Government of Alberta commence the legal process required under the Canadian Constitution to hold a binding provincial referendum on whether or not Alberta should separate from Canada?”

    should be, imho, a complete non-starter.

    Doesn’t matter what the actual vote result is.

    What matters is, will society hold together if things turn violent – how will the police react, how will the feds react, and what will the US do? 

    Donbas 2013-14 is the separatist template. (And Trump’s too?)
