    “Managing the relationship” will be the purview of diplomats long after the Trump regime has faded. They are not about to grandstand about Trump’s appalling behaviour, particularly when the safety of colleagues and their families are at issue.

    I’m glad we helped those people when they needed help.

    That’s who we are, and I would be ashamed of us if we turned our backs on civilians evacuating from a war zone, particularly when it was easily within our reach to help.

    So Canada did the kind and decent thing and helped out a bunch of civilians who were stuck in a horrible situation though very little fault of their own. 

    That sounds like a good thing to me.
