Onya Albo! Australian-made from companies to vehicles is Labor policy through and through, we don’t need any of those nasty foreign made things

All vague and no commitments to build cars here
udum2021 on
Of course we can make cars, just not at a price people are willing to buy.

We don’t have the skills.
So we’ll end up importing foreigners to make car onshore.
I would rather pay foreigners to make cars in their home country for a cheap price, then to bring the same foreigners here onshore to make cars for a more expensive price.

We just need to put tariffs on imported cars to adjust the price from countries that pay their workers like slaves, where they live in huts in slums.

It’s a lost cause. Germany and Japan are struggling against China. How exactly are we going to compete? We offer zero competitive advantage.

Oh good. So we’ll whack some tariffs on The imported cars so our local industry will be competitive, but then no one will be able to get a car for under $100k

Tax payers propped up a failing domestic car manufacturing sector to the tune of $5B over 10 years. Yeah. Let’s do that again.

Who would invest in the company if you are going tax the returns at 47%?
Ablo is a clown.

Proponents of “free trade” were always intellectually and morally bankrupt, their sole goal was to render the Australia defenceless through deindustrialisation. Looking forward to the show trials where Chairman Albo holds these traitors accountable.

only EVs, petrol is such a disgusting thing now

We stopped making them because consumers stopped buying them. To think we can compete with the mass producers like Japan and South Korea is optimistic in the extreme.

Didn’t anyone tell Albanese we don’t do tariffs here?

all the comments coming up for lazy excuses not to do it.
