Tu tu du du du duuuu pedophiles.

Oh gawd this is getting upvotes.

I do not support the gop pedophiles they are monsters.

I’m not trying to make a pedophile theme song either.  Just seems like the gop and their ilk are celebrating this sick shit with team spirit.

We need to stop supporting and electing and subscribing to the most vile humans.

  2. Religion is often the excuse. It is seldom the cause.

(In other words, they’re using the Bible to justify doing *the things* *they already wanted to do*.)

So 36 Republicans voted to enable pedophiles?

I know GOP stands for grand ole party, I just didn’t realize until this last decade that it was an Epstein party that was so ‘grand’

Where exactly in the Bible does it say a grown man can marry a little girl and have sex with her?

  5. >Thirty-six Republican House legislators in Oklahoma recently voted against [S.B. 504](https://legiscan.com/OK/text/SB504/id/3358236), a ban on child marriage, with some citing the Bible or “family values” as their justifications.

    >The measure passed the state House in a 51-36 vote (after passing unanimously in the state Senate) and became law on May 13, without Republican Gov. Kevin Stitt’s signature — though his office didn’t explain his refusal to sign it. The law establishes 18 as the earliest age at which one can marry in the state.

    >Supporters of S.B. 504 said the bill would help end the physical abuse, sexual exploitation, and domestic slavery experienced by child brides who often remain in forced child marriages because they lack the legal rights of adults. Nevertheless, during the hour-long House debate over the bill, state Rep. Jim Olsen (R) asked, “How confident are you that it is always wrong, 100% of the time for 17-year-olds to get married?”

    >“How old was Mary when she married Joseph?” he added, referencing the Biblical figure for support (though some historic scholars [estimate that Mary would likely have been 15 or 16](https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2017/11/17/sorry-roy-moore-joseph-wasnt-twice-marys-age-215838/) at the time of her marriage, according to Jewish custom at the time).

    >State Rep. Derrick Hildebrant (R) read a Bible verse to oppose the bill, saying, “Hebrews 13:4 – ‘Let marriage be held in honor among all.’ Does ‘among all’ now only mean those who are 18 and older?”

    >Fellow state Rep. Justin Humphrey (R) said, “This bill has nothing to do with pedophilia. Do you know what socialism looks like? It’s when the government comes in and tells you what you’re going to do,” he added, incorrectly defining socialism as any system in which the government enforces its laws.

Christian nationalist logic is the most convoluted thing ever. They literally think that banning child marriage is somehow “socialism”. Meanwhile, they pass laws stating trans kids can’t go to the bathroom and have to use porta-potties now. That’s somehow not socialism, though.

They literally used the Virgin Mary as an excuse for their defense of child marriage. The Virgin Mary who was impregnated by God to deliver the Christ as an excuse. I think they missed on the Immaculate Conception part and how Mary could have been killed for being a pregnant teen mom.

Then again, we know Christian nationalists don’t care about women and girls, other than as broodmares. This is fucked up reasoning

“Child marriage” = legalized abuse. It’s just a way for predators to forcibly silence their victims.

Republicans are the party of pedophilia, child abuse, and graft. That’s why they elected Trump.

I fairness (?), the Bible is perfectly ok with incest, rape, and slavery

  10. For all my fellow Okies, these are the state representatives that [voted](https://legiscan.com/OK/rollcall/SB504/id/1695006) no to banning child marriage.

  11. Only 17 states have banned child marriage in the United States. Those states are

    1. Delaware (2018)
    2. New Jersey (2018)
    3. Pennsylvania (2020)
    4. Minnesota (2020),
    5. Rhode Island (2021)
    6. New York (2021)
    7. Massachusetts (2022)
    8. Vermont (2023)
    9. Connecticut (2023)
    10. Michigan (2023)
    11. Washington (2024)
    12. Virginia (2024)
    13. New Hampshire (2024)
    14. Maine (2025)
    15. Oregon (2025)
    16. Missouri (2025)
    17. Oklahoma (2026)

That means 33 other states haven’t banned child marriage. That’s literally insane to think that 2/3 of the states allow child marriages. That’s crazy.

Republicans will claim whenever a drag queen simply walks out the house to “think of the children”, while child marriages are happening now. Just gross.

The Bible can be used to justify anything, which is why it shouldn’t be taken serious outside of personal faith. Don’t attack people for believing but don’t accept their claim to authority from a apocryphal narrative.

  13. >He argued that the government should not interfere with parents’ rights to make decisions for their children.

If the child is young enough that their parents are still making decisions FOR them, they shouldn’t be getting married.  And the decision to marry should in no way be made BY the parents.  Wtf.

    What. The. Fuck.

Republicans out here straight up advocating for pedophilia. The Republican Party is a direct threat to peace and safety of the country.

  15. Ah yes. The book of pedos. Remind me again why we put up with backwards cavemen that believe in fairy tales in the 21st century?
