KINSELLA: Danielle Smith started a fire and Alberta — and Canada — will suffer for it; The premier legitimized the separatists and their mission. It’s completely delusional to believe they are going to give up.

    >If Smith had any political smarts at all, she would have said no to the separatists in her own UCP caucus, and she would have never agreed to embrace separatism. She would have never allowed a referendum on Alberta separation to happen. She would have done what Peter Lougheed and Ralph Klein and Jason Kenney always did — fearlessly defend Alberta’s interests, but within Canada.

  2. Conservatives really do love finding ways to waste money.

I look forward to the tens of millions spent to “fight” this nonsense.

  3. It’ll sprout up every few years when somebody would benefit from destablizing Canada or Alberta. There’ll be a new facebook post or a youtube video. They’ll claim it was “stolen” or “the question wasn’t fair” and we’ll be off again.
Every time it happens the gullible will eat it up with a spoon, saying “This time!” , as once again investment in Alberta will drop, and people who are sick of it will move away.

  4. This entire blatant sedition needs to be shut down and its leaders put in jail. How can a country function when it allows people that openly accept foreign money to break it apart?

Does it really matter if they give up or not? As long as their numbers are too small, they won’t actually be able to do anything. Just like the Quebec separatists.

  6. It doesn’t matter if they never give up, there aren’t enough of them to make a difference in a democratic country and they can never acquire weapons or organize themselves in a way that would allow them to force separation.

Therefore they should be ignored. As those of us in Alberta who are in the Canada first supermajority do.

I wonder if anyone had an archive of Smith’s twitter pre election. Pretty sure there was some pro separatist sentiment expressed there before it was cleaned up

  8. Let’s watch PP stumble and bumble around this issue. This is a golden opportunity for PP to stand up and show Canada he can actually lead. Smith knows her base and she will never truly let this rest

  9. I’m sure the separatists will calmly accept the results of the referendum and not crash the fuck out for a decade or anything.

  10. Her actions are a pretty clear indication that she is involved and/or is getting greased by those responsible. Premiers in this country don’t seem to face consequences as of late though so I’m sure she’ll continue stoking the flames of this treasonous, divisive bullshit.

  11. All I can say is don’t buy treason beef. Or is Traitor beef better? Sask beef is better anyway less grisly.

  12. It’s her core base support that she can’t seem to please or displease…who could have seen this coming? Who I say?
