USA Surpasses 50 Gigawatts of Solar Module Manufacturing Capacity. At full capacity, it can produce enough to meet all demand in the US. Solar module manufacturing has grown five-fold after the passage of the IRA. As a result, the US is now the 3rd largest solar module producer in the world.

What happens if the panels are covered in snow? Will a back up system be required or does everyone just not have electricity for winter. Thank god I live in Western Australia where 90% of our electricity is gas turbines and it never snows.
What I want is a “garage kit.” I have a double car garage with one south face that would be perfect for solar panels, and that rough square is probably the most common roof face shape in the U.S. So a kit that is sized to fit the typical garage roof side with a connected battery and feed-in system that requires minimal upgrades to the house electrical system could hopefully be relatively inexpensive compared to bespoke system installations. It would be unlikely to match the home’s total demand but it could definitely cut bills down quite a bit.
