Thats what happens when a bunch of conscripts with barely any training go against determined rebel forces, which do have some experience and are very well motivated to fight. There´s a popular saying in regards to authoritarian states such as Saudi Arabia that tells us they always have 2 armies. They have a relatively large National Army with barely any training and not the best equipment so they are rather weak in actual fighting capabilities, they are there to be just that, an Army so noone thinks its a free ticket to invade or anything like that and cannon fodder. But these states also have another army, the National Guard in other countries known as the Republican Guard, these are few in numbers but are the best trained and best equipped, they are few in comparison to the national army because that allows the goverment and the head of state to better select the officers and commanders of the units that compose that army, as a result, they are loyal and will defend the head of state against the national army if and when they decide to revolt. These is what happens with the Saudi Armed Forces, thats why Saudi Arabia and the U.A.E which boast very well equipped armed forces, where virtualy humiliated by the Houthis for several years, even today the Houthis have the upper hand
