As big as the jump up to 14% of annual electricity supply in 2024 sounds, it doesn’t quite capture the whole change – solar has been providing 23-27% of supply each month in Pakistan since November 2024. Coal and gas generation are both down as a share of generation and in absolute terms.
And even *that* doesn’t capture the huge off grid solarization happening as well, replacing diesel use for irrigation.
And the GW of imports of Chinese PV each month just keep coming.
