  1. Any ding to interregional (or intraregional, for that matter) transmission is a bummer

Considering it’s a key platform by which the energy transition will take place, it is woefully underinvested in (I suppose the dollars are getting there, but permitting and cost allocation reform sure isn’t)

  2. Showing just how deeply the petroleum industry has its claws into the government at all levels.

  3. No thanks to pedo president, his idiot energy secretary and MAGA moron Josh Hawley. They pulled the rug out on an already approved loan guarantee so Invenergy had to scramble and likely incur higher costs. Major high capacity transmission lines like this are exactly what the US needs to maintain grid reliability and grow energy sources. But the dipshits want to kill it because it carries “woke” wind and solar energy from the plains to the east. God I hate these people.

It will likely be built since it is mostly a merchant line (not rate-based or centrally planned) if it continues to appear profitable. Several others, many of whom have DoE grants, are moving ahead. The list follows:
    TransWest Express
    Champlain Hudson Power Express (CHPE)
    SOO Green
    SunZia Transmission
    Twin States Clean Energy Link
    CPNY (Clean Path NY)
    Jersey Link
    North Plains Connector
