  1. And who is going to buy it? China has plenty of sources and their consumption is platueing as they build a record number of solar and wind plants. Europe? They’ve seen their coal industry atrophy just as hard as the US.

    It was never regulations or lack of subsidies that started coals decline. It’s just not an ideal energy source anymore.

    The most that Trump can do is slow its decline, but it will never grow in the grid again.

  2. It won’t work. Clean energy is on par if not cheaper. This is like an old man, on his deathbed, begging for more time.

  3. Last I checked I thought subsidies was a word not allowed by the DOE. Are we just going to call them handouts now?

  4. These fucking morons think renewables are killing coal, when the real thing that killed coal was natural gas.

    There are still coal-to-gas conversions happening to this day.
