  1. The Minnesota Star Tribune reported Friday that Anthony Salisbury, one of Stephen Miller’s top deputies, was observed discussing the plans via Signal in view of members of the public while traveling in Minnesota. The newspaper was then contacted by one member of the public who was troubled to see sensitive military plans discussed so openly.

In the messages, senior White House officials discussed the potential deployment of the Army’s 82nd Airborne Division, an elite unit that specializes in parachuting into hostile territory. The division has been deployed in both world wars, including the Battle of the Bulge, as well as Vietnam and Afghanistan.

Those 2nd Amendment, Don’t Tread On Me guys are all just busy packing their bags to go fight the tyrannical government, right? That’s why they aren’t protesting. Must be.

I know I’m preaching to the choir but this deranged psychopath needs to be removed from office ASAP! I don’t mean through violence, we need to push whatever sane people may exist in the regime to use the rules that exist to remove him

And after that his regime needs to be stripped of as much power as possible and weakened to the point of ineffectiveness until we can get a sane government back. These monsters shouldn’t even be allowed to choose which donuts to bring into the office, they’re living embodiments of awful choices

It’s sickening that there are people who think this is ok

For what? Are they going to drop in and start a ground war? Taking military targets that the US owns? Flattening power and communications infrastructure?

I can’t believe over half of the electorate voted for this BS.

  5. He is probably going to send like 200 Military Police from 82nd. It wont be what it sounds like. He just wants to be able to say he sent 82nd into Portland so he looks hard for his base.

The Magas don’t care if it’s true or not.

They want to believe that Portland is a war-ravaged wasteland because it’s fun for them to think about, all those liberals running around crying with their beloved city in flames. They see footage of riots from other countries, or edited clips from 2020, and that’s all the evidence they need to convince themselves that the city is a smoldering ruin.

The truth is far less exciting. There was nothing unusual happening in the city before the feds and the national guard came to town, it was just another beautiful fall in the Pacific Northwest. The ICE facility looked like an abandoned building with plywood over its windows, and there were a small handful of people in costumes hanging around sometimes to protest. There was one of those inflatables with the crazy arms, and a guy in a chicken suit for a while.

The idea that Portland has ever been out of control is laughably false. Even during 2020, when much of the footage used now was actually filmed, the entire demonstration and protest area everyone was so excited about was just a couple city blocks downtown. At the height of the craziness in 2020, you could be a couple blocks away and have no idea that anything was even happening. They take isolated incidents, edit them, and then make it seem like they’re representative of the entire city. It’s fiction.

Portland is a big city. The stuff happening around the ice facility is one city block. The Portland chief of police himself confirmed this:

“The fact of the matter is, and it’s been highlighted so many times so well, but I just want to emphasize, this is one city block. City of Portland is about 145 square miles. This is one city block,” Day said during the press conference. “Even the events that are happening down there do not rise to the level of attention that they are receiving.”

Surprised they didn’t just jump to sending the Rangers. Certainly are some leftist former Rangers out there, but the battalions are very rah rah, would also be some cruel poeticness to their origins in hunting and killing natives and immigrants.

82 airborne is trained to seize airports and hold them against counter attack while they get reinforced.

There’s no benefit to their training to deploy to a US city as US cities do not correspond well to cities anywhere else in the world.

  14. You want to know why it’s the 82nd? Because 2ID is literally a 2 hour drive away and plenty of us would drive down to PDX on weekends to party, so we know how awesome the city is.

For everyone who’s worried, I’m not. These soldiers are going to enjoy the craft beer, Columbia Alley wine, and oysters, and have a good time. This is going to convert some Republican soldiers into Democrats.
